Well we need a horse on that list..

looks like you covered most everything. although my list would have had about 300 brushes since I have this strange addiction to them.

Name plate to go on stall

pair of boots, mud boots, and a pitchfork, cause you'll have lots to clean.

Another big thing not put on here, but something I truly believe in. A good pocket knife. You want one with a large enough blade to cut through a lead rope if you ever need to and one just to help out at the barn with feeding. I always use the same one.

I kkep the pocket knife for cutting twine but pruning shears are great for leadropes and twine. I don't know how I've managed without all the stuff in the above list. Here's another item, a shop vac. My horses get vacuumed before a show-they are clean and it doesn't dull the coat.

fly mask
fly spray
bot knife (also can be used to cut open hay bales)

These are just a few more things I know I couldn't live without.

Edited to add:
Plenty of horse books and magazines! Esp. vet care/medical books.

When it comes to that pocket knife, if you can find one, get a Mariner's Knife. This is a folding knife with a straight-edged large blade (best for cutting cords) a normal shaped small blade, often a rasp/saw blade, and most importantly, a Marlinspike, either as a folding blade or fixed off the heel of the knife. The marlinspike (looks like a steel version of a saber-toothed tiger tooth) is for ropework, and is usefull for everything from picking and tyeing knots to splicing.

Steel toed shoes if you are new to horses...
Connections for good hay and shavings in your area
Hay rack for the hay to stay off ground (okay, stop laughing, its the effort)
BTW, in my personal experience show sheen works okay for detangling, but childrens spray in detangler for hair works wonders! That's just my exerience.
Head & Shoulders shampoo for rain rot
a good poisonous plant book to help you diagnose if the weed hanging out of his mouth should be in his mouth (for the weeds you don't recognize anyway)
med. book to help treat minor injuries and also help you determine if it is minor or major.
Hose w/gentle and somewhat less gentle shower head
a LOT of patience
bug bite stuff (for you)
fly shield (for horse)
sunscreen (you and horse) if he/she has white blaze down face or nose
Saline solution (yes, the kind they sell for eyes) to rinse any scrapes/minor cuts
Swat to keep bugs off minor scrapes/cuts.
Duct tape (I know you already said that, but it doesn't hurt to emphasis)
Oh, don't forget the Duct tape
AND, duct tape....

ibprophen (for you)
wine (for you)
Hot tub and epson salts (for you)

This is just the type of thread I needed to read. I was pretty sure I had everything I need covered but it's always good to see what others have to say. I'm bringing home my first horse this Sunday.

...and lastly [if not now-soon] a horse trailer.
I loaned my trailer to a friend and that weekend my horse tried to colic. would have hauled him in but NO trailer.
It is kind of like better to have and not need than the reverse.

I know it was said about sunscreen for both you and horse.
But I have a friend that uses Zinc ointment to prevent sunburn on her horses face. With the Zinc ointment they only have to apply it once a week.
