My Stock Trailer arrived!

I'm possibly making a deal to by a 1989 Big Valley Stock trailer with divider. It will hold 3 horses comfortably. It looks to be in good condition and sounded to be in good shape from what they have told me. They are also throwing in a 2 wheel wheelbarrow, a 30 gallon rubbermaid water feeder with port for heating element, 2 saddle pads, 1 saddle blanket, 3 horse winter blankets, 10+ feed/water buckets, grain scoop, halters, bridles, bits, close to 30 metal t-posts, etc. The price quoted to be was $1725 as they no longer have any horses and need $$ quickly for something.
What do you think?

Honestly, if it's in decent shape with a good floor, good tires, frame not bent, then I don't think you can go wrong for all that stuff at that price.

Go for it!

I agree, if it has good tires, good floor, solid frame and axles, and not too much rust - with the bonusses, it sounds good.

Ditto! Watch for those key areas, but if its in good shape, it sounds like a good deal!

I just heard back again from them, and they asked me if I wanted 3000 ft of braided rope fencing too! There is a guy who is supposed to pick it up by noon, but they think he will probably not show up again as he didn't show on Monday night either.
The floor is in good shape, but only has rubber matting in the back half, so I'll probably have to get some mats. We have been looking for a trailer for a while, and with a stock trailer my hubby can haul our lawn tractor too up to our farm until we get moved up there. That is why I'm excited about all the extras, as we will be setting up from scratch up there. Any opinions on the rope fencing?

As long as the trailer is sound for haulling (i.e. solid floor, lights work, tires in good shape) I would go for it. I would love to find a deal like this around here! The trailer is just what I am looking for.
Good luck!

Looks pretty good to me. I would definitly jump at this. From the pic's it looks pretty solid no rust, just check the floors and the cross frame underneith. If the steel is solid go for it, at that price if the floor is bad you can replace that no problems. As long as the steel frame is in good shape. Around here the trailer would have sold in a day!!!

Got here about 12:30 AM last night, poor guy got a punctured back tire and whatever he hit ripped the wires from the trailer off at the plug. Easy fix for my hubby, but he still had about 2 hours to go to get here with no lights! Everything looks pretty good. Some rust as expected for an '89, but I'm pleased.
He got stood up by the same guy three times who was supposed to come get it, and I was the first person who emailed him about it after he ended the auction, so I was the runner up. Two other people had emailed him about it after me (who were closer!) but he was really nice and delivered it clear up to me! They needed the money for a deposit for their wedding by friday which is why they delivered it so quickly, but I felt so bad that he and his fiance had a 7 hour trip home in the middle of the night though. They forgot the fence, but are going to ship it to me. Very nice people.
