Which hoof polish?

I was looking at hoof polish for the halter class and wanted to know which one would be best.

Bio-Groom Hoof Polish

Apply to hooves for a beautiful polished glow during competition. Won't crack or peel and is long-lasting in all weather. Removes easily with a mild cleanser.

Retail value: $5.49

OR

Supershine Hoof Polish

By Absorbine. A high-luster hoof polish. Available in Hoof Black or Hoof Clear

Retail value: $7.49

Or is there other ones. Please tell

I would check to see if they are water based. I have the black by Absorbine,..it comes right off if the grass/area is very wet.

Our horse is very tolerable. We use black spray paint. Works great and stays on for 1-2 weeks.

We try and use water based, but do keep them away from water and such until it dries. I would not leave on hoof polish longer then the show. We typically remove it between shows....

Do any of them say that they won't dry the hoof out? I don't know if they make such a thing but that would be a big concern of mine if I were using it a lot.

A lot of the 4-H kids here use shoe dye, but most kids only show at the fair so it's a once a year thing.

I've been hoofblacking feet for 10+ years and the only kind I will use is Ultra Hoof Polish and most farriers will tell you that removing it worse than just leaving it on.

If you're afraid of the hooves drying out, you can apply a hoof moisturizer.

Fiebings Hoof Polish. It's only like $3 a can and it works wonderfully!

I love the Ultra polish aswell, but absorbine works well too. And it does cause more harm to remove it than to leave it on. As long as you take care of your horse hooves before & after you should not have a problem.
