Cole,
Since there is some confusion on the white rule, I contacted AQHA by e-mail and sent them a copy of your colts pedigree.

According to the registration Dept. no horses from that pedigree can be registered with AQHA, since the entire pedigre is not AQHA.

I hope I didnt offend you or make you mad for useing your horse as an example, but there was confusion as to the registration of crop out paints from QH, not from paint lines.

Here is the e-mail

Kim:

The horse produced from this pedigree would not be eligible for registration with AQHA as the ENTIRE pedigree does not trace back to Registered American Quarter Horses. Plus, any horses currently applied for registration must be Parentage Verified.

Sincerely,

Cassy Anderson

Hello,

Questions I have is:

1) Can a registered APHA breeding stock, solid paint out of a registered APHA colored dam and a registered APHA breeding stock, solid Sire, which is from decendants that are colored crop out's from 2 AQHA registered horses?

2) Sire to the registered APHA breeding stock solid paint is a APHA registered breeding stock, solid paint that in the sires third generation, both Grandsire and Granddam are both colored crop out's from solid colored Quarter horses. Can he be registered with AQHA?

Pedigree below.

3) Can any offspring from this sire that is solid or colored, be registered with AQHA if out of registered APHA dams?

To summarize -

If both parents are registered AQHA, then the foal will be registered AQHA, regardless of how much white it has.

If one parent is registered APHA, then the foal can be registered APHA, regardless of how much white it has.

If you have one parent registered both AQHA and APHA, and the other parent is registered AQHA, then the foal can be registered both in AQHA and APHA.

AQHA x AQHA = AQHA
AQHA x APHA = APHA
AQHA/APHA x AQHA = AQHA/APHA
APHA x APHA = APHA

Forget everything you know about the white rule now. It doesn't matter anymore with the recent registration rule changes.
