BG, I love her breeding, and those two photos you posted with your husband on her, endurance/riding/racing really show her russian/Nariadni link, I never saw Muscat/Nariadni in person, but they were in their "breeding primes" back in the million dollar era of the 80's, and they MADE Karho farms ( which was a palace of a stable, literal giant white pillars and such, it went under, and is no longer in existence, I believe it was one of many that folded after the "tax breaks " that farms like this were able to use,was ended do to law changes )
the infamous Lasma East was another, it was sold first to a Japanese business man, but still ended up closing down, I was lucky enough to go tour it, including the "Star Stallion barn", in 86' when I was at nationals that year,( it was not to far from nationals still )

if you could find some arab times/or worlds, from the 80's, you could see, they often had Muscat/and/or Nariadni/ posed out in front of the water/white pillars/ in 2 page spreads and such. my dad used to still have a bunch of Times, will have to see if he still has some. though Nariadni was a very popular stallion, there was much talk of him being a SCID carrier, as found out, and as a result it seemed that he always kind of took a "backseat" to a lot of other top stallions, including Muscat, though of course he still has a lot of descendants that seem to not be carriers, but I have been "out of the loop" for a little while so I may not hear of it.

P.S. I was just snooping around to see if I could come up with pic's on line of places like Karho, and apparently there is a revival of it by H. Kale ( who had it before, do not know how old site is, though a couple stallions they have listed are 2000/ 2005 models, so must be fairly recent, but Muscat, and Nariadni were sold, moved years ago and ultimately ended up with, and lived out their lives with the Taylor's in Utah, interesting to see if it is/develops into half the place it was.

Druydess, I'm not sure exactly how the flaxen gene works, but you'd think by doubling up on it, would definitely give you a better chance at it! I'd love to know the percentage of F-N-I's get that got that gene; of course you seen tons of photos of those that did, but I would guess not all have... would be nice to know what your chances were, particularly since Solei has the same striking color.

Have you ever been on ABN's site? I'm a member there, rarely post, but it might be interesting to see if anyone there has an answer about the flaxen gene.

Yes, I am also a member of ABN, as breeding is a consideration I've always had at the back of my mind during the purchase of the 4 Arabian mares I currently have. I felt that, though I purchase a horse for temperament and companion ability, I also want a steed that can reproduce itself if they are superior in the previous as well as more stringent categories.

I'm trying to optimize what can be gained considering what I have been blessed with lineage-wise. My chestnuts will take greater care... And the percentage of F & I's foals is a stat I doubt even the owners have calculated, but the question is worth asking.
I know his grandson is well received there..

It is much easier with my greys...

However, Solei is a 25 %. She is the ONLY platinum liver chesnut of that cross. (She is the only platinum in the 4)

I suppose we'd also have to take into consideration the stats for those he sired that weren't a product of a chestnut mating...

It would be an interesting study, to say the least...

I can say I see more of his get being more consistent than many who command larger fees for less consistency.

As some sires are prepotent, my gut tells me, so is she.
She's a throwback, and represents genes not recently expressed...obviously if you look at her.
Shorter face, more compact body, more muscular, flaxen/liver coloring, and still not even mature...
Anyway, I digress..
Call it a hunch.

BUT, I could be wrong...

If anyone has ideas, thoughts, I am happy to hear them.. It would be great if a foal that lives and breathes is a result of a coordinated, educated discourse before its very existence...

I've got a few of Shai up there, but he's still in his winter coat. I need to get my camera back so I can get some update pictures of my boy. lol

The Simeon Shai line is wonderful. He's got a superb temperment, great movement and excellent conformation.
He has won his halter championship in the US when he was younger, and I've been looking at getting him back into the show ring either this summer or next.
I feel really privliged to have this boy in my barn.
I apologize WSA, somehow I missed this post...

Here is her pedigree..

Your boy is a handsome fellow...you can see the beauty beneath the winter...

Ahabarabs:

Yes, I had heard that about Nariadni having SCID also. He does have a lot of descendents and Kierra and both her foals are SCID clear. Here are her two "babies":

Fantastik Masterpiece

Magnifica Masterpiece

From what I've learned, Muscat and Nariadni were stablemates and were very attached to eachother. In fact, when Muscat died, Nariadni seemed to lose his interest in life and died a year later. All the years I've loved horses I've never really paid attention to bloodlines, except for Thoroughbreds. I've always followed the triple crown, so I started looking at bloodlines. My first mare was a grade that the lady I bought her from had gotten as a foal from an auction, so there was pretty much no way to trace her at all. Then when we got Fire and Legacy and we started learning about their incredible bloodlines, I got hooked. It is really fun to learn the history of different lines. We are in the process of trying to buy a small horse farm and if everything works out, we are thinking about breeding Kierra. I have a friend that has a couple of nice studs and if we have our own place, I won't have to worry about being able to afford an additional board bill. Thanks for the info. It sounds like you are really well educated in Arabian bloodlines. Is this just a hobby for you, or have you been "in the business"?

I have just been having quite a tickle about what I've been reading..

I just love the varied offerings! Very entertaining ... & informative!

I'll start a separate thread for those interested in breeding/Arab lines as I don't want to hi-jack Sarah's thread.
I'll look forward to intelligent discussion of Arab lines as they relate to breeding, conformation, and temperament. Breeding choices/outcomes made for young mares/crosses would be especially welcome.

Look forward to hearing from my friends..

Here is a video clip of our first mare Tsylent Legacy and my boy Ha Le Fire playing in the barnyard:

After reading the story I realized that you are the owner of my horse's sire and dam. Our girl's name is Tsyltress on Fire and she is a beautiful chestnut too. We wondered what happened to her breeders. Too Funny.
