Several things work well but I like Listerine the best. MTG & Tea Tree Oil work very well too.

my gypsy cob got it earlier this year all over his back, i had the vet out at the time as i had him gelded, he gave me antibiotics as it was pretty bad but told me if he ever gets its again to use baby shampoo and maybe hibiscrub if needed and that should solve the problem, afew months later he started to get afew scabby areas on his back so i just shampoo'd the area infected and then also put a little baby oil on and the next day it just brushed off and had no problems since (touch wood)
