I Don't Know About You Guys,...,

But, I'm not afraid to ask for a discount when I'm ordering supplements, etc. for my animals.
I have done business for years (probably 12 years) with United Vet Equine, and I ALWAYS ask them IF they will 'meet or beat' their competition, and they always do.
Well, today, I got 'attitude' from the sales person because I showed her where the price was cheaper, AGAIN (Heartland Vet Supply), asked if she would sell it to me for the same price,
(she said, yes, but was pretty disgruntled about it).
And then, since they say that they will take an extra $7.00 off over a certain amount, I asked for that too.
I don't feel badly, and I told her this, as well, I told her that that is how your getting my business today,
and, in these trying economic times, that's how your keeping my business.
I think she had 'nerve' copping a 'tude' because I'm a good customer, AND, I'm getting a discount.
She could have said 'No' and I'd have taken my business elsewhere.
I guess this should go under venting, sorry.

If it's their policy to match competitors and give a discount if they don't, then I'm all for it.
I was in Walgreens the other day. Their sign says, if we don't give you the receipt, then we'll give you $10.
Well, I bought a $2 item, didn't get a receipt, daughter wanted me to go back in there and get the $10. I said, no I'd feel weird about it.. She really felt I ought to go back in there, but I did not. I said was not a big deal. If I had a bigger purchase, I would have. Maybe I should have IDK. $10 bucks would of been handy
I see Kwik Trip charged me twice for my Milk Duds. I wanted to go back and complain but by the time I found the error, I would of had to drive all the way back for 1.49...not worth it but if I would of still been there...that is different.

Anyway, a policy is a policy. The worker should not have made you to feel bad about it.

Copping a 'tude with me usually gets "I'd like to speak to your supervisor"
who gets a little talking to about getting their people some customer service training. As a "professional customer" nothing irritates me more than poor customer service.

I considered canceling the order, it was $350.00,
which I don't have to spend on my animals,
but I choose to spend it.
But don't offer to 'meet or beat' your competition, and then get an attitude.
That's what POed me.
Just say 'No', and I'll take my business over to them.
I say, don't give the paying customer an attitude, if the gripe is with the competition, JMO
Oh well,..., should have put this under venting,
vent over.

My girls will tell you that my favorite phrase is, "I'll take my money elsewhere!" If I don't like the way I'm being treated, I will tell the manager that he/she has lost my business and exactly why.

How rude of that worker!! You should talk with the supervisor about her. I work customer service and I try my hardest to be nice to all customers. WITH that being said, sometimes customers complain to me and tell me that I won't get their business again and being perfectly honest, it doesn't affect me or my job so I just apologize for the inconveniences..but I don't really care. That sounds awful lol....but usually the employees and even the managers feel indifferent about it

Maybe this doesn't belong here but it is the customer service thing. Six weeks ago I totaled my car in a head on accident. The other driver and I have the same insurance company which shall remain nameless. Initially they were not going to do anything about replacing my car. They changed their minds when they discovered the accident was a mutually at fault one. Both of us were trying to make a left hand turn in heavy traffic and neither one saw the other. Two weeks after the accident the adjuster STILL hadn't been out to look at my car. His excuse: My car was in the shop. What the H happened to a phone call to ask me if I wanted to be assigned to a different adjuster? He FINALLY gets there to look at the car and the only answers I can get to my myriad of questions are CYA answers. I am told that I will have a $$ amount on my vehicle within 48 hours...didn't happen... I can be really nasty when things aren't going my way and by now I have been almost 4 weeks with NO transportation and begging rides to work because there is no bus route to the barn where I work..10 miles from my house. Do I have a right to be ticked? I think so...so I start calling the weekend adjusters and trying to get the information the auto adjuster isn't giving me. By Monday they have me pegged as the most obnoxious customer they have ever seen. By Tuesday afternoon the MANAGER drives to my house with the $$$$. I now have a new to me vehicle and I'm HAPPY...All they had to do was take care of the customer....
