Drain opener

The bathroom sink drain in the bathroom my daughter uses gets clogged from whatever...anyway, I had been buying septic safe draino type stuff, that did work, but was spendy and seemed a bit caustic.
We found this recipe, tried it and to be honest, I swear it worked better then the draino. AND it has not clogged up again (but I have also told her to be sure to quit brushing her hair over the sink!)
Here is the recipe incase you want to try it:

.5 cup baking soda
.5 cup whit or cider vingar
6 cups total of boiling water

Put soda in drain then about a cup of the boiled water, then the vinegar and 2 cups boiled water
15 minutes later, boil the remaining 3 cups of water and put that down the drain.
Let sit for about 1/2 an hour before using the sink.

this works good to clean a garbage disposal and get rid of that icky smell.

I've used that several times. It doesn't always work, but a cheaper attempt anyway.

Vinegar is a very good cleaning agent. (do not use on ceramic floors) and the corn start is a good abrasive.

To remove smell from garbage disposals. Throw in a cut up orange or lemon.
