Really! Thanks so much!

What patterns/color glass do you collect?

I would never make quilts, I am far too lazy!

Thanks! Things keep changing daily!!!

I found out yesterday that my sister has given me back my 1920-30s cane back walnut sofa and armchair I had lent her years ago. They look a lot like these pieces with sage green brocade seat upholstery.

That means the white wicker daybed will go to the basement tornado shelter [since Kansas is tornado alley, and since the secure area is already built into the basement anyway]. Sitting a tornado warning out is boring, so with a kerosene lamp and the daybed down there at least I can lounge and read a book or something. And the white wicker armchair will go on the front porch [can you see me there sipping iced tea in the shade?] -- soon to be joined by another wicker armchair one when I find it and a small table.

And............my dad has a simple oak paneled wardrobe from maybe 1940 or so for me to use in the living room to hold coats, so I won't have to buy one. I think I will paint it white since it does not have any detail and is not a valuable piece. Then, I can use my white wicker entertainment armoire on the other side to balance things out and hold my TV. I saved tons of money by shopping dad's garage today!

But I was disappointed to find out that for the want of a screw, my auntie threw a beautiful unique 1940's yellow step stool chair into the trash a few weeks ago. It was the one I was going to use in the kitchen! Auntie didn't mean any harm, but I about cried.

See what I mean..........everytime I turn around there is another change!

I definitely decided to paint the armoire white and here is one just like mine. This is my wicker entertainment center.

Ok, I am back!

I have been busy sewing curtains for my living room, and of course I decided on a different fabric than before!

Here is my famous fuzzy photos of the curtain and the trim I applied. I have to line and inter-line the curtains before I am finished. I also am making a matching sofa throw.

My dad in his careless clumsy way smashed the decorative cut and etched glass for my unique vintage front porch light fixtures!

So I decided to buy this glass and have it cut to fit the fixtures. It will be lovely, but costly.......

I have made simple yellow vinyl cushions for the porch's benches. And since a calico cat has adopted me, I used the left over yellow vinyl fabric to create ----tah dah! Cali's cat house table!!!

It is made of a old 70's octagonal table, insulated with corkboard, and upholstered with the light yellow vinyl. It is heated and carpeted. Don't laugh, I built it all by myself.

It is either ingenious or ridiculous. I can't figure out which.

I will register the patent under Ashen's name!

That way if anyone laughs, I can say that is a brilliant design for an arabian mare -- rather than a stupid idea by a human!

I just bought my third -- count them three matching tablecloths from Ebay!

Why you say? Well, one will be cut in two lengthwise and used to create window valances for the two windows. I haven't decided on the undercurtains. I am torn between the yellow woven check solid fabric, white battenburg lace curtains, or just crisp white solid curtains.

One will be on the table with the matching napkins, and the last one will be cut in two an used lengthwise as runners for the buffet.

I love the ethereal floral prints that Vera Neumann designed!

White battenburg lace

or yellow woven solid check

I am leaning towards the white battenburg lace with a yellow interlining, and a white lining. The lace should look good over the yellow. What do you think?

Man, I just blew it! I had my auction sniper set on another of these Vera tablecloths just in case I lost the last one.

I won the one I wanted, but forgot to delete my snipe on the last one. Soooooo..............today I won yet another pink & yellow daffodil tablecloth!

I guess I will have runners made out of the last one to line my china cabinet!

Man I am bummed! I have got to drive 60 miles this week to pick up a pair of rare vintage iron Ice Cream armchair stools!

If I don't get there soon, my stools will be shipped to unclaimed property!

Thank you Pam!

That cat table is definitely "different" to say the least.

Glad you like the stools Redboy!

Love the cat table, it's ridiculously ingenious! And you just cannot have too many pink and yellow daffodil tablecloths, I think they are darling.
This is a fun thread, glad you're back!

I went to Walmart last thursday, and as usual made my rounds to the Clearance section.

I saw a nice stash of curtain rods that were marked $7. Since mark downs were being done nearby, I took one to the worker. They scanned it and it was not $7, it was $3.50!!!

I ran back over and grabbed up all of these rods, including the larger size. They scanned at $4.50 each!!! I rapidly counted up number and sizes of windows in my house and found there was enough for every window and one left over!

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10233858

I think they go great with the clip on curtain rings I have already purchased! What do you guys think?
