I used it to start my coal stove. I made little twine balls from the used sessile twine from my square bales. They burned longer and were hotter than the loose twine that I tried first. The loose twine burned to quickly.

You do this too? I thought I was the only one with that unique use...

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg used what looked like baling twine to hang on their covered bridges during Howl-O-Scream. It is a Halloween type event. Baling twine hung from the ceiling of bridges that people walked on and the baling twine had frayed a bit and brushed against people's faces. You could see it clearly during the day, but at night, I bet it was a bit spooky. So, you can use it for your Halloween events next year (it was the hemp type string). Then again, it may not have been baling twine at all, but it sure looked like it.

I keep the pretty blue or white plastic stuff for braiding tails... best braiding yarn ever! The natural stuff also makes a dandy grooming whisk if you weave it. It's also a wonderful "safety feature" for cross ties - make a loop of twine, attach that to the wall ring and THEN attach the cross tie. It's sturdy enough to hold a horse, but makes a good safety break-away! I keep a bundle of it in my trunk, too. Along with duct tape and Zip ties... And it's better than any bungee cord for keeping your trunk lid down when you're hauling big items. At the moment, a storage trunk on my deck is literally being held together by a nifty "harness" thing that my husband devised...It's just a natural "hold-stuff-together" kind of item
