Harrisonburg , Va horse auction

i was just wondering if any of you virginians were planning to go to the memorial day auction this year...i think i will go and was hoping to meet some of my fellow horsetopians there if any of you plan to attend.. i went last year and it was my first horse auction and was amazed at the nice horses and the low prices some of them went for, I'm not looking to buy, just going to check it out.

I use to always go. So many horses went to meat buyers that they started requiring meat buyers to stop sellers at the gate to proposition them. That was 6-10 years ago and that is why many people do not see how many they buy. I use to buy resale projects there and if you know what to buy, you are OK. Really they only thing that sells well there are the gaited horses. The mennonites love them.

I would be going but *sigh* my older sister just HAD to be getting married the day before! So because of that there is going to be lots of "family time" the day of the sale...

I'm thinking of going to Lexington on the 7th of June or maybe Marshall the following week. I'm still trying to get things worked out for days off/rides for my kids that I haul to work. I am chauffeur once the theme parks open. Maybe I will see some of you there. No, I am not getting any more horses either----I may not be able to afford the hay, as it stands.
