Did Anyone Else....

Have that absolute DOWNPOUR of rain today?! It sure was needed! I got some wet picks and may be posting them soon; it depends on weather or not they look like grey smudges

It's been raining its butt off here all day long. An occasional ray of sun and then more rain. I see grass (hay) growing!!! We just got a new horse and the poor thing only has a run-in until we get the other barn built----can't go out in the downpour to play with him.

Where I am, it started out as a steady rain, then later on in the day: BOOM!! CRASH!! Lightning and thunder. Then sunshine- I thought, "I think I'll go riding". 20 minutes later: BOOM!! CRASH!! More lightning and thunder! Needless to say today was rather unproductive in all riding aspects.

I swear I can see my grass (hay too!) becoming greener and taller before my eyes! It's amazing! Unfortunately for my founder pony, he gets all the enjoyment of being surrounded by lush pastures, and not being able to even ride on it...

yep, rain all day. There was a sliver of sunshine, but then the thunder and lightning started. We were able to mow our yard.

We had rain last night, on and off drizzles in the morning, then around 3 it started steadily coming down. Although, it looks like it has slowed down a little for now.

The rain has officially stopped. I'm glad we had it though because the ground was absolutely BAKED! When I was riding out on my baby yesterday, I kept my fingers crossed so that I wouldn't have to endure falling on the concrete-like fields!

Well today the water was up over the bridge- that means that it must have risen about 4 FEET last night! Truly impressive. It rained all day today, and I rode in the 3 hour window of sunlight (bareback, too slick/soggy to do anything else). BOY was my baby spooking left and right from all the assorted puddles and tarps around the place! Anyways- it's drizzling right now. When will it stop? I feel as though we're having our own little tropical storm!
