Need to find...

In the upcoming months (not sure yet when) I'm looking for:
A reputable hay dealer
A farrier
A vet who makes barn visits (no trailer)

In the Georgetown area.

I'm also going to admit that this is the first time I'll be doing full-care for myself as I've gradually been stair stepping down from full-care board to pasture-kept (though the pasture's so lush I haven't had to grain).

They're coming in from Kansas and the guy I boarded with in Kansas said up there the horses go through about 60 squares in the winter per horse.

I'm not sure yet what I'll need for a winter here in Texas for 2 horses in regards to hay. I'd like to pay for it all up front. I can't do round bales as I've got nothing to move them with nor a hay ring.

So, if anyone can make any recommendations, I'd appreciate it SO very much!!!

As for hay- coastal or alfalfa?
farrier- I can give you the number to the guys we use, they have been to the place you are keeping your horses at to shoe before so they know it. If you don't like them, check out the Purina Store on hwy 29(say hi to my bro while your there if he is working) and they are starting to collect business card from farriers to display. You might be able to call and get some numbers over the phone.

Vet- I reccomend Live oak, or Dr. Magid(I think he does G-town, and he only does barn visits)
