What do you do with your horses?

It's been quiet here in the Texas forum!

I thought maybe we could all share a little more about what we do with our horses! And lots of pictures if you have them! I don't have lots of them, and not the greatest ones either.

We have several horses, but these 2 are my main loves. (I love the others too, all of them but these are MINE!)

This is Rusty and me at the lake waaay back in 1995. Rusty and I did everything we possibly could from small (and I mean small!) local shows, miles and miles of trails and a lot of playdays. Nothing fancy, I just like to ride! We were both a lot younger in this pic, he's 25-26 now and I'm 30! He stills packs my girls around, but not a lot, he's just not young anymore.

This is Jules and me at a fun show in NC, we were doing the ride a buck. It was my first time and pretty darn fun!

This was a while back too--just roaming the pastures.

And another from a while ago. I was leaning down scratching her neck, so it's a little awkward looking. I really need some new pictures!

So, all you guys want to share your photos and interests in your horses?

I love to talk about my horses! I love the pictures that you posted. This is my OTTB Kaiser. He's 8 and we mostly do Hunters but now we're working on dressage. He's also a great trailhorse (most of the time)
This was a show in June

This was a trail ride down in Joshua. The barn behind me is over 100 years old

This is Sophie; I've only had her for about a month. She is registered QH but has a lot of TB in her. She is 17 and had not been ridden in 5 years when I picked her up. Her previous owner has cancer and needed to find a home for her. I've ridden her just a couple of times. She needs work but I think she will make a great horse once I get consistant riding on her.

Other than spoil them rotten?
I no longer have big horses, and I miss riding at time.
But the little guys allow me to keep horse's in my life
and keep hubby from worring that I'll get hurt.
They have been a joy.
Jack is a registered American Shetland and comes from a great line of show ponies. And it's a dream to one day be able to show him, for
now we have started ground driving, and hopefully he will pull
a cart for me, in the near future. No hurry there he's only 2 1/2.
Peanut is a grade mini, that was given to me to keep Jack company.
He's a handful and also 2 1/2. A cart might be in his future also.
So here is a couple of my favorite pictures of them.
Also you both have gorgeous horse's.

Jade I love your photos! Kaiser is very handsome and Sophie is very pretty too! I remember you posting about when you got her. Thank you for sharing your story!

CM-They are adorable, both of them!! They look full of personality! I am glad that you are able to have horses in your life, I can't imagine not having a warm nose to greet me even the ones that are filled with horsey boogers. And I agree, they should all be spoiled!

Countrymare...those first two photos look like they came out of a coffee table book. Those are great. I love the dogs floppy ears!

Here are a couple more pictures. This is Jake. He's not mine but he boards at the same place. His owner is a really nice guy who used to do the wild west shows at Six Flags. You can shoot a gun off his back and he is great to trail ride with because nothing spooks him.

This is my favorite pic of my big boy and me from last winter

This is my favorite lesson horse at the barn. She is such a confidence builder.

First I have to say I love seeing pictures of everybody's horses. Here are a few random pics of my boys. I like to go on trail rides and ride in the Grand Entries and the local rodeos. Most of all I just enjoy having my boys around as companions. They have helped me get thru some of the most difficult times in my life.

Here is Sampson showing off his new bridle and breast collar.

Sampson looking towards the house hoping someone will bring him some treats!

Here is one of Charlie from early this spring. Sorry it's so dark.

And last but not least.... SUNNY!!! He's just about totally retired, so I don't have any pictures under saddle.

I love the pictures Jade! The one with the little girl is cute!!

Jen, I love your guys too. Sampson is such a sweetie!

I love learning more about all your horses!

Here a couple more of my group.
This is Apache- my favorite picture of him.

Fred, Randy's horse. He's learning that treats and lovies are pretty darn cool!

Scout, the new old guy on the block. We took him in so he'd have a nice place to retire. He's a grand sweet guy, he deserves it.

Doll, the young newbie, we got from the Diamond Y! She's a sweet heart! Quite the helper too.

Another of Mr. Rusty.

This is Zee, she's out on a free lease right now to a good friend of ours.

Here is the latest picture of Sampson and me. We went on a trail ride on Ft. Sill this weekend and had a really good time.

I like to take in pretty landscapes from horseback. Sorry these pics aren't of my horses, but of the scenery.

This pic I just had to throw in. This is a permanent water crossing. The concrete was slick from the algae (like a boat ramp) so we dismounted our horses rolled up our jeans and walked through it with the horses. My friend Chrystal was the last to cross. Amigo crossed it like a champ!
