Exclamation Mosquito Season in Texas has arrived

Yesterday afternoon, I was running my gelding Bo on barrels for some practice at home when I noticed a neighbor had a couple cows out! There was a bull and 2 calf's...they were running a muck down the road through some other people's property and then disappeared in the trees by the creek.. So being the nice neighbor I am, I took Bo out after them, finally got them chased back across the creek to their side of the fence, but I came home with about a 100 mosquito bites... Running through those trees and brush and by the water I guess that's where those mosquitos are hiding and just waiting for their next victim .. Anyway, I am so itchy today, I have tried to put calamine and bendryl all over me to make it stop!! As I sit here trying to type this I have to stop every few seconds to itch, GAH!! This is miserable..

Mosquito season is definitley here.

Go to your health food store and get a big bottle of 1000mg Garlic pills. Take two a day and the mosquittos will mostly leave you alone, and the ones that do bite will itch less.

Its harder to find but B1 vitamins are also mosquito repellants. A friend of the family is allergic to mosquitos and she takes B1 year around

B1? Really? That will work? I have horrible reactions to mosquitoes and I'm allergic to garlic!

I do not think folks who do not live here understand the level of our mosquito problem.
I think lots of things that may work OK on them do not stand a snowballs chance in Hades down here.
I use sprays-sprays with DEET in them..all that kills the WNV ones and we have them here.

Yeah, DEET is my friend. Keeps the nasty ticks and chiggers off, too!

Biting buggers, yuck!
