Angry Has anyone had a bad buying exp. with a ranch?

I am going through a battle practically right now with a Ranch I bought a horse from. I know you're not allowed to post on here the name but I will PM you if you think it might be the same. A ranch just east of the Austin, TX area in Red Rock. Please let me know if you have bought or sold a horse from them and if you've had a bad experience. I'm going to take them to court and would like as many witnesses as I can get to stand up for everyone if they've been "Had" by these people. Please PM me asap! They completely fabricated this horses ad for sale and lied to my face about him now they're suddenly too hard to get a hold of, I put the gelding in training and they said they'd send money to contribute to it, b/c they obviously know he wasn't trained in what they said he was. Its been almost 4 wks now and I haven't received anything...She won't return my emails or calls, so I've decided to go ahead and take more aggressive measures..

Exclamation Update!

Ok, so I sent the certified letter off today. Basically stating all the things that I have recognized as fraud and I have requested to be reimbursed for the training, etc... I also included the copies of the ads that she posted for both the mare I traded and for the gelding I got from her, showing her I have PROOF! I stated she had 30 days to contact me and try to resolve this or I will file a petition in her County with the Justice of the Peace small claims court and pursue further matters. I emailed her one last time last week to see if she would respond before I took a step further, and of course she never did! So, here is the next step. I just wanted to keep everyone updated. I'll let you all know more as it progresses. Thanks again for all the help and support.

I'm glad for you, I have heard of a few other people on another forum being taken by them, let me see if I can get a few more people to give you statements.

Do keep us posted

That would be wonderful, and so helpful!! I really appreciate it. I have tried to search the forums for other people but haven't had much success...if I get the word out about this place and let people know not to buy from them that will be just as satisfying as taking them to court! I have also reported them on several websites that they have their ads listed on, as a fraudulent seller and advised the websites to not let them post. I hope I get the message across to them! Thanks again for the help!

I'm sorry you are going through this. I exchanged a few emails with her about three weeks ago and she was very rude when I asked her questions because she wanted almost $4000 for a grade mare I was looking at. When I mentioned buying grade had some risk for QH Pedigrees and would exclude her from shows for registered horses, she had the nerve to call my mare "junk" in return - inexcusable. She also went off on a rant in the same email just because I was wanting to see if she would go down in price. That was my red flag - you couldn't pay me to deal with that woman. Her ad even said OBO for goodness sakes. I wish I had more for you but I'm just thankful that I didn't buy from her and I'm sorry that you did...Prayers and best wishes on getting this mess with them straightened out.

Well I just got the email confirmation that the letter was delivered to her...so now it's just a waiting game to see if she calls or emails me to try to work this out, now that she knows I am serious. Thanks again to everyone for all the good advice!

I hope it doesn't take them too long to get back to you.

how long have you given them until you take matters further?

I gave them 30 days from the 21st of April to contact me and resolve this before I contact the Justice of the Peace Small Claims court in their county. I have a funny feeling though that she won't contact me...given her track record. Oh well, I am prepared to take her to court!
