The next time we plan an HT get together, I am highly recommending Duncan Lake. The folks over there were really nice and helpful. There were plenty of shady areas to park the trailer, clean bathrooms, running water for the horses, a wash area, and picnic tables available at the camp grounds. The trails were well kept and marked. They run all around the lake. (Maps are available. I was clueless for most of the ride as to what direction we were going.)
I really enjoyed the 12 mile ride. My rear was a bit saddle sore, but it was well worth it!

I am proud of Sampson. We started at the front of the group, then I moved him to the back. He did wonderful. He didn't fuss a bit. We went up and down some steep creek bottoms without hesitation. He was one tired boy after we got back to the trailer.

That evening Sampson gave a little boy his first ride on a horse! It was a really neat deal.
