Forum Rules
Hello Horsetopia Forum Members,
Below are our forum rules. Please take a minute to carefully read them and note that the rules apply to private messages as well. If you have any questions, please contact one of the moderators or Horsetopia-Annie, we are always happy to help! Forum Rules: You are responsible for reading and understanding the following. If you see anyone breaking the rules, please report the post by clicking on the on the little red triangle button on the post. 1. No posting abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or potentially illegal material. This includes specifying/naming an individual or business when posting negative or critical comments. Should others be interested in learning the details of the individual or business mentioned, they should do so through email or Private Message. 2. This forum is intended for adults. Horsetopia has a strict minimum age policy -- you must be 18 or older to post in the forum. If it comes to our attention that one of our users is violating this rule, we will immediately deactivate her/his account. This is a serious rule and we make NO exceptions for new members. Find another forum to chat on if you are under 18. 3. Follow the Golden Rule. Do not be rude to other members or moderators. Treat others how you would like to be treated. We are a friendly community and we do not tolerate negative comments directed at Horsetopia forum members or staff. You are always free to express your opinion, it just has to be done in a kind way! We do not ever try to "censor" members' beliefs or prevent them for expressing their opinions. What we always try to do, however, is remove comments that are mean-spirited, overly negative, or dripping with sarcasm. (This rule applies to comments made on the forum and elsewhere on the internet.) 4. "Adult themes" are off limits. This forum is strictly PG-rated! However, it is fine to discuss horse-related issues that might be considered "adult." For instance, mature posts about breeding, sheath cleaning, and the other nitty-gritties of horse ownership are fine. 5. Banned members: You may not create a new account if you have been banned from the forum. You may not post on behalf of members who have been temporarily or permanently banned. Members who cause multiple complaints or whose posts must be repeatedly edited or deleted will have their accounts closed. If your account is banned, you may not create another account. Additionally, if you are no longer permitted to have an account on the forum, then other members may not post on your behalf or give out their login information. If you have trouble accessing your current account and don't know why, please email us. 6. You may not use the forum to make solications of any kind. This includes using the forum to solicit charitable donations or sell products, services, and/or horses. Do not use the forum to promote your business, charitable activities or other websites -- if you have something to sell, please create a seller account and post a "Horsetopia Local" service, event or product ad. Additionally, do not begin a post about your horse for sale in the "advice about buying/selling a horse" forum unless you have a specific question about how to improve your ad. Click here for more info if you have any questions about this. *A note about links: links to your personal website in your signature are generally fine. However, links to sites with adult content are never allowed. 7. If you have a problem with someone on the forum, or anything else forum related, contact a moderator or administrator. Do not post about it on the board or try to involve other members. We are all here to share information and enjoy interacting with other horse lovers. If you have a problem with something that someone has said you should resolve it through private message or contact a moderator or administrator for help. Forum etiquette: You will receive a reminder for repeated problems with the following. If your posts are hard to read, they may be removed and you will be asked to repost them with changes: 1. Please restrict replies to addressing the topic at hand. Casual quips and remarks that do not add to the topic may be removed by moderators to make the topics easier to read. The occasional one word reply is fine, but please limit the "LOL" and " 2. Grammar and punctuation count! Please use proper sentences, capitalization, line breaks etc. It makes it difficult for our members to read what you are saying if you don't use complete sentences, purposely misspell words, or don't include line breaks in your posts. This doesn't mean you have to spell perfectly, just make an effort! 3. Choose an appropriate title when posting a new thread. Instead of naming your post "whoa...CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!!!!!!", give it a nice informative name, like "Chicks - Photographic Journal". 4. Before asking a question, consider doing a search to see if the topic has already been discussed. To do a search, click on the magnifying glass on the top of the screen that says "search." Moderators or administrators noticing anyone breaking the forum rules will edit, lock or delete the post. Moderators and administrators have final say in all situations where a post is edited, locked or deleted. You may not delete or publicly question moderator reminders in a post you have written. However, you can always contact moderators and admins by private message. We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently ban user accounts at any time. Information and photos posted on this forum may not be reproduced without written permission from Horsetopia.com. Disclaimer: The questions and answers posted in these forums are for educational purposes only. The answers given will be general and every case is different. As a result, you should always consult with your own veterinarian or specialist when making decisions about your horse's care. Horsetopia.com and our members will not be held liable for any information posted in these forums. This information is not to be used to make important decisions about the care of your horse or replace a certified veterinarian's opinion.
