Went to the PA Horse Expo

Went to the Expo Thursday. Kinda disappointed.
Didnt see any of the Ariats that I like.
No Professional Choice square black barrel pads.
Overall a good day to go. Weather was excellent. Not alot of people there.
Was there about 3 hrs, that was plenty. Wasnt really interested in any of the clinics.
Not sure I will go back next year.
It is a good place to mingle and see friends, just not sure it is worth the drive and admission fee anymore.

Oh.. I did buy some kind of broom/mop combo. It does work good on the dog hair

We went yesterday too. We did some shopping, my daughters bought some Breyers that was it. We also did Theater Equus. My daughters , 5 and 7, really enjoyed it. My husband and I were disappointed. Overall not as good as has been in the past.

We went Thursday as well. I got a real nice set of endurance stirrups They were not marked, I took them up and asked the guy, "How much for these" he looked for a price tag (like I didn't) he couldn't find one either and said, "ohhhhhh $15.00" I clutched them to my heart and went up and paid. The same kind of stirrups I've been eyeing up on E-bay for $60+ so I happy.

We went yesterday, Nicole got a pink halter with skulls and crossbones on it because Gracie is so hardcore!LOL

She got a sparkly pink western pleasure decal for her hat box, a HUS decal, and I got a magnet for the car that says "Put you a&* in some class ride an Appaloosa", couldn't resist! She also got her jewelry for the wester shows at half price, really blingy!

We couldn't find a gel pad in that whole place! and she wanted a number pad for english.

Bad food as always but we enjoyed spending the day together.

I went Sunday, I had fun. Went with my trainer and we had fun, first time we've been able to hang out in awhile. Nothing that I had to buy (but I live in DE and a one of the biggest tack stores there was based in Delaware, I'll just go next week and not have to pay sales tax)

I really enjoyed some of the clinics, we took home a few games/ tricks that we can use with the younger students cause we are always looking for ideas, and of course I picked up tickets to come see the Parelli clinic in April.

There was one thing I almost bought, did anyone see that tying contraption that guy was selling, it looked pretty cool, I picked up some info, might take it to my barn owner and see if it will work for us... it looked interesting.

Anyone go on Thursday and see the Quarter Horse during the parade of breeds fall out of the back of the pick-up truck...oh three or four times...

That was THE WORST breed demo EVER! It just sucked!
What does doing poorly executed 'tricks' and forcing a horse to jump into a slippery pick-up truck bed have to do the the American Quarter Horse?

The horse fell trying to jump up a number of times and the last time he fell into the truck, the guy almost go squished but gosh darn it he MADE that stupid horse get the job done... it was horrible to watch!

If I was the AQHA I would sponsor some REAL Quarter Horses to go next year!

I was pretty dissapointed.
There was Less training clinics (I go becuase I like those) then the years before.
Breed Demos were pretty sad... who picks those horses anyway? (There were a few good ones though!)
And the 'Show' on Friday night was the worst yet

I still had a ton of fun and we all had a blast going, but it wasnt as great as the years before... and there was more that one of the 'Trainers' that were there 'training' the horses that I feel should not go next year
Again, who decides what (Self-Proclaimed) 'Trainers' get to give clinics?

I do have to admit one thing that bugged the heck out of me, I watched the sessions and trainers too, and I the funny thing was if you watched a few back to back, you realized that one would say one thing, one would say the complete opposite

I will say I did like Josh Lyons demo, I liked how interactive he was with asking questions what you wanted to see. Gave more info then a lot of them and put it in easy to understand terms
