Boarding in SE PA??

Hi guys -

Looking potentially for some barns in BUCKS or the immediate surrounding area for boarding facilities [more family types] that have pasture board. Barn is being sold; I'm receiving Nakai, and need a place to put him! He's happier outside, and as a working college student I need a place that's not going to suck me dry.

Thanks guys -

There is absolutely NO WAY I'd ever board at haycock stables. It's awful, and they treat their horses like crap. If someone mishandles a horse- especially a horse that isn't their own when there's absolutely no reason for it, I immediately veto it from the list.

I know they probably treat their boarders horses better than their hack horses, but if all horses there do not get equivalent treatment, I'm not a part of it. It's run down, disgusting, and falling in around the BO/BM ear's... and they do nothing to fix it.

Thanks for the websites, though =]

Have you tried Fox Heath ? That's where I first started riding! I used to like it there. .. I was eight or so and that was a long time ago but still ... nice place! I used to live there. It's not the same anymore.

Glad you already know about Haycock stables.............I wwas ready to post my disapproval.
My blacksmith lives sorta near Haycock ..............she is a wonderful person, nothing fancy, but provides terrific care. Not sure if she has room, but I can ask, if you like.
I wish we were closer...I am in Montgomery County, probably too far for you.

I live in the northern part of bucks, almost by the lehigh county line. Certain parks of MontCo may be in the area, but I'm not sure.

I know about haycock and all seasons =[ We recently had a mare come to us from all seasons roughly 200+lbs underweight after she foaled. We've had other boarders come to us and they've told stories about horses going without water for days... a lot of horses are malnurished and underweight, so even for the cheapo price I wouldn't dare put nakai there...

I may end up at a friends, actually. She has told me NOT to dare let Nakai get away... and she's currently horseless since both her boys are in their twenties and getting too feeble to do the strenuous trail workout she does. She's amazing. Maybe that could help get Nakai into more shape

Paintmecrazy is near you and works for a facility, you could PM her to see if they have any openings.

I didn't get a chance to read the previous replies to this thread - has anyone suggested the Horse of the Delaware Valley? They have a ton of classified listings in the back for things including stalls available.
