Colt for sale

I have a 9 month old breeding stock paint colt. He is sorrel with white socks and a blaze and 1 white spot below his knee. He is out of a AQHA stud named Lucky Sunny Zan Sox and a APHA overo mare named Rosy White. He is friendly but needs more ground work. His parents are both listed on allbreedpedigree.com. Two of his full sisters were Grand and Reserve Champions at county fair 2 years in a row in halter. He has his paper work to be registered and he will be an excellent performance or halter boy. I need to get pics but I am asking 700 for him neg. to good home. You can PM me for more info. I want to sell him to look for a potential stallion or well bred filly. He, as a paint solid, I do not think he is stallion material but I see a awesome gelding with loads of potential. Do you guys think 700 is to much or to little?

Well, maybe... the registration will be a lot more since he is over 9 months old, and if he needs some work, I would do that with him so that you can justify the price...

Post photos girl - he may be worth double what you are asking if he is stunning...

I will try to get some good pics of him after he is done stuffing his face, something he does really well. For regular APHA registry it is 75.00 and for solid paint registry it is 50.00 for current members, if not a member it is 35.00 more. I only have a couple pics of him from when he first arrived. Here they are. What do you think?

I think in todays market, without exceptionally great ground manners, $700 is too much. You might be able to get $300-$500 if your lucky.

I am in no rush to sell him, I am working with him daily to improve his manners. He is not mean or anything he just doesn't know much. I have been exposing him to boxes, bags, dogs, flapping gloves. raincoats, running kids, hoses, and the horse trailer. He just wants to stop and stare at everything. Thanks for the input though, I was not sure what babies are bringing in this area.

He is really handsome around here they go for about $250-350 even registered, crazy aint it? Also the fact that he's a chestnut really isn't going to help either... For some reason people dislike chestnuts.. not enough color I guess!

The horse market is not doing anyone any favors these days is it. He is actually a sorrel but they don't seem to market any better than a chestnut.

Well, he is breeding stock or solid - so he won't go for the price a colt with color would - and it will cost another $100 to register him.. I would probably list him at $500 if I wanted to sell him or $600 negotiable.. You might get some interest.. But the market probably will not pick up much until spring hits..

He sure is a cute little guy - with a nice head
