Hi b-mark
Nah, Cookie's fine, she's virtually indestructible
No, it's my girl Lacey, breaks my heart, she is now officially retired from the trails, we will start riding her again in a bit, but just easy rides back the road, no rough ground for this girl anymore. We will only be riding her cause she misses it, and watches us going like " Hey what about me, that's my job ! "
This is Lacey, looking gorgeous as always !
We think all the deep mud and water we had to ride through (during our endless summer of rain) irritated her back fetlock joint, it is no longer supple but stiff, and while she's not really in pain, she is very stiff, so she has the easy life from now on. l miss riding her soo much, finding her replacement has so far been impossible, she is just such a smart trail horse, nothing fazes her, and she's beautiful to boot, and like riding a cadilac, sooo smooth. But at 22, she owes my nothing !
Dora is looking better than ever and is still going strong, we have decided that age is only a number, and you have to look at the horse to see if they are ready to retire or if they are happy and healthy in their job. In Dora's case 26 is like 16, or maybe even younger, she is fat and fit, runs out to the pasture every night.
l am looking for a home for Cookie though, l think she is ready to slow down, become a weekend rider

l have a few possibilities but l am of course checking them out carefully !
Sounds like you will be busy moving, hope all goes well for you, and l am sure Sophie will do fine, looks like you have given her a very comfie stall to enjoy.
Anyway l am still looking for a new Lacey, so anyone know of anything please send them my way
