I have moved Jack, my Morgan to a new barn
I have moved Jack to an awsome trail riding facility. I moved him on Tuesday and went out for a great trail ride on Wednesday evening. Jack has his own large paddock with a huge run in stall and has access to 30 - 40 acres of pasture each day. I have arranged for him to be let in in the mornings (They ring a bell for the horses to come up) when it is time for his grain and then I will put him back out to pasture after I have ridden him. For the first ten days, he was supposed to stay in his paddock and get to know the other horses over the fence line before being allowed to go out with them. As he is so mild tempered and easy going, they let me put him out today (day 4). I walked him out to where the other horses were, let him off of his halter and two horses came over to see him. He just continued to eat the grass. No hassels or anything. This is the first time he has been physically in with other horses since he left Ontario on May 7th. So considering that, he has done very well. I went on another great trail ride today and am just loving it. This is what I have been wanting for years. I have met some very nice people and things seem to be working out good now. No more lonely rides for me. I took Jack into the river a bit today but not too much as it wasn't nice and sunny day. Overcast with the threat of rain but we were very lucky. None came. I decided to have the paddock as well as the pasture so that I wouldn't have to go and hunt him down whenever I want to ride. Lazy aren't I? BUT smart!!! He He!!!!
