Did you guys notice.....

Some Ontario Walmart stores are starting to carry horse supplies.

How weird is that?

Our local Walmart has a selection of leads, lunges, halters, clippers, horse shampoos and conditioners and loose livestock salt.

I was standing there in that aisle looking at that stuff wondering what the heck!

Nope didn't notice but my hardware store does. Not sure if it's a RONA but the prices are very competitive and the stuff in the catalogue is extremely NICE

Man, that would be awesome if ours did! Our Home Hardware has horse stuff though - electric fencing, halters, brushes, etc.

A couple of the Wall-Marts around here carry a small selection of horse stuff, Usually just treats, leadlines, a couple of halters, some brushes, hoofpicks, stuff like that. Occasionally bagged feed (Purina is the ony one I have seen there) riding gloves, a couple of crops.

Surprisingly, though, they often have shavings there that are the same brands the feed stores sell, for about 20% less - they just don't always have alot of bales (but when they do, you'll see folks totting whole cartfulls stacked to the ceiling up to the checkout)

Don't care, don't shop there, won't shop there. Be careful otherwise you will see your locale tack shops going under like all the other small shops in a town that walmart opens in.

totally agree-especially with things going the way they are-too many times the small shops have been overcome by the giant conglamorate.
