Angry Brrrrrrrrrrrrr Sick Of Winter

It's freezing outside today and windchill to boot

The pony is so funny this morning, l am watching him as l drink my coffee, he is bucking and rearing, than he stops, spins and does it again. Too cute, he's almost 30 years old and still full of himself.

Mind you, may just be self preservation, it's ****ed cold out there

C'mon guys, it's almost over. Everytime you pet your horse you have to spit out the hair. Sure sign it's ending.

Hahahhahh... is THAT what it is????
Yeah, once this month is over, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Gonna start some seeds in the house in the next couple of weeks... spring IS coming!

Wiarton Willie said so!
And, now.... off to shovel out/find my mail box!

I spent an hour outside this morning, hat pulled down over my ears and all bundled up except for my legs-which is ok because after 20 minutes I didn't feel them anymore
We have the mares moved around and the pen set up for my golden beasts arrival today but it was alot of moving buckets, gates, hay, grain etc. On top of that, when I first got there I pulled out the hot pack I had brought with me(it had actually stayed warm for 1/2 hour) and put that on Roma's one side of her udder and after 10 minutes it too was ice cold. But we are seeing lots of draining happening now YAY!!
I am totally done with the cold, freezing miserable weather...but on another note-isn't it such a brilliant sunny day-if you get out of the wind that sun is intense.

But did you see-they have it coming in like a lamb-that's never good.
Oh well-we always get an April snowstorm, even if all this melts.

Yup, that's a good sign for sure! I've got another one for you though... hatching chicks!! However, even though momma hen might think it's time, I don't & therefore she & the little ones are living in the basement.

I keep looking at the long range forecast on the Internet and it keeps showing these ups and downs, but more downs in temp. lately. I hate it. I am frozen and I am in the house!!

When will it end. I can remember in 1990 (I only remember as it was during March Break that one of my little foster children came to live with me and he was in shorts and was riding his bike up and down our driveway. It doesn't look like we will get that this year. I have to admit though, the following week we were back to the snow again. It was a lovely break though and so hopeful.

It was supposed to warm up today, but the wind chill was still in effect - I rode three horses though, so that kept me warm.
I ran my friend's farm last week in Onondaga (C'mon AnneM, I know you know where that is - haha) and it was so cold the pump froze in the pump house. Which normally is not a problem except I had never thawed this pump before...sigh...thankfully they paid me well and they're going away again in April. YAY!

Yup, I know where that is. Last Wednesday, my friend and I went to bring the horses in to ride. I put Jack's halter on and we looked at each other and asked why we were doing this. It was beep beep beep freezing. My friend said she could do with a hot soup. We decided to forget the riding, took Jack's halter off and went to China King and met up with some horsey friends and had a lovely hot soup. Lunch cost me $3.96 and I was able to socialize in the warmth and then took a drive to Pleasant Ridge Saddlery. It beat being out in the cold for the time it takes to bring the horses in and then put them back out again. My friend ended up spending just under $100.00 on a breast plate that she has been eyeing up for a few weeks now. It is very showy. We don't do shows, we just trail ride, but she loved it. We negotiated a deal to get it and I said to her, just go for it. She did and her horse looks lovely in it. She calls her, her Princess.

YUMMY a true Canadian delicacy. Maple syrup hummmmmm. I always wondered how they thought to boil sap to get sweets . Last year our local bush barely got any, lets hope for a better crop this year.
