We have had mud, rain, freezing rain and snow in less than 24 hours. Yikes!
I was really wishing for snow- we have season passes to Windham and we want spring skiing. Our pony was exhausted this morning from the crazy wind we had.

North of Syracuse today is YUCKY!!! Horses are even syating in, their choice! SNOWSNOWSNOWSNOW is falling, about 1 1/2 feet so far since last evening. Power is back on tough, YaY!!! Just doing housework today...to cold to spend lots of time in the barn. B-I-L's barn flooded from all the rain, now frozen, what a pain! When's spring????

Lost my electric for 4 hours one day this week then again Saturday for 5 hours. We decided to brave the weather and eat out. I told Tom I wish I had taken my camera with me. The trees had close to half an inch of ice on them.

We lost 6 more pine tree tops due to all the icing. One of my baby goats died. I think it got chilled from standing out in the freezing rain with mom while she ate from the round bale. Then I had 2 more goats born yesterday. They are currently resting in my bathroom.

I heard a great big sheet of ice slide off the barn roof. I ran to the window for fear that Monty was standing at the barn. Thankfully he was hiding out in his shelter.

I don't know about you but I'm ready for spring.

My life is just dandy...NOT. I won't bore you with the details. I'm just going to call it April showers.

So far we are in holding mode on those pups. Olive is nesting this morning. I swear she's going to dig a hole in her pillow trying to get comfortable. She can go any day now.

On a more positive note. Lovely weather we are having. I'm thinking of seeding my summer pasture. What do you think? Am I getting ahead of myself or should I wait? The horses have already fertilized it.

Well I would wait a while, at least until pockets of mud dry up.
I am planning on seeding my 30 acres this year. I am having my son buy the seed and spread with his atv and seed thrower.

Notice my new avatar. TB mare 11 years old for sale, sound and a Man of war
GGGGgrandaughter. Looks like himto. Her name is Adrianna's Song if anyone is interested to do a breed search.( I can not figure out how to link from one site to this one )
I have Tack Truncks still for sale, would make great coffee tables, and hold winter blankets. remember Hope Chests?
No mini babies yet,
Keep us posted on the puppies, You were also expecting some minis from the stallion you lost, how are they? I bet just perking along.

Hi, Everyone, all's relatively well here north of Syracuse. Lots of critters running around. The neighborhood has gotten a little less "safe" lately. We are in the market for a new dog. Looking for a German Shepard. Male or female, doesn't matter. Preferably not a pup, but would consider one. Will have it spayed or neutered, but can't get from a rescue, because they all seem to want it to be a house dog. We would have it as an all purpose dog, outside, loose but invisible fence. NOT looking to breed...just a pet/watchdog. If anyone knows of any that are looking for a new home, let us know. We are a REALLY good home!

Mud puddles are gone. I read the directions on the bag. Fall winter mix so I decided to go for it. The seeds probably aren't any good any way. The bag was 4 years old and never been opened. They were something I inherited. Miley had fun helping me. goofy puppy. Who knows where she planted the seeds that stuck in her hair. I made a seeder by taking a hot nail and melting holes in the lid of an empty Quick box. It worked pretty good too only I thought it was taking to long so I just tossed a handful in the air and let the wind disperse it. I saved the box. Won't be long and the kids will want to go frog hunting. I love it when I recycle.

Poor Olive kept thinking of ways to have her pups and it finally paid off. We have 5 beautiful puppies. Do you think I will be able to tell if they are pure bred mutts in a month? Tom wants me to advertise before they are eight weeks old.
None of my mares look pregnant not even my Hackney that I thought would be due in late June.

My grandson's father has me watching for a GSD so I'll keep you in mind as well. Gee it's to bad about the GSD that was for sale when I bought the kennel. Found out the woman had him put to sleep. beautiful dog too!

Does it have to be pure bred? I have a Rotti GSD mix. Wonderful dog. She was hit by a car when she was 11 months old. Not overly smart but friendly. She'll bear hug your intruder knocking them down and lavishing them with kisses until help arrives. Oh and she's spayed too.

congrats on the puppies, let me know if they are pure or mixed, You never know I might come across someone who might want one.
Hope you do have at least 1 mare in foal , I hate when that happens, you plan on for a certain number and whoops no babies.

OK I am kicking this up again, How is everyones spring coming along?.
I have had no mini babies yet. Just tapping my foot and wondering why.
Pastures are getting green and my horses are tapping their feet in anticipation of running and eating the grass.
Not much is new.
Hubby had biopsy of his tonsils, and voice box, Drs. says all looks good.
Me I just keep going and cleaning up barns and spring raking
Sold one mini yearling. now I have 6 to go. and about 6 big horses.,
Getting them ready is the fun part. riding, bathing than showing them,
How is everyone doing?.
Let us know
Have a good day.
Jo
