Places to trail ride in NY

Hi fellow NYers,

Being new to the area, I'm looking to find some areas to trail ride around NY and northern Pennsylvania. Can everyone share their favorite spots along with some details? Are their any horse camp type places here where you can camp and ride?

Thanks a bunch!
Sheila

Every year in Little Valley, NY(which is in WNY, Southern Tier) there are big trail rides that alot of people go to. You camp, explore LOTS of trails, party, all that stuff. Meet new people. Show off your horse, you know There are horses availible to rent, and good for anyone. You should be able to find updates on the trail rides at stagecoachwest.com

Alleghany is fun to go to also. Darien Center by Six Flags-Darien Lake has trails.

Those are all I know of?

There is a little place called Harmony Acres near me, in Parish, NY That has two annual trail rides. They have a campground, and provide chicken BBQ and breakfast on sunday etc. here is the link. You should come to it, my S-I-L and I are going to go this year, should be fun. We have drafts, you could bring yours, and we could make a "HUGE" statement! LOL

I looked up those places mentioned and Little Valley would be driveable for me. Now all I need is a horse and trailer..LOL, but I am working on that.

Jadelover, the place you mentioned looks great. I'm afraid just on the otherside of the state from me My old gal doesn't ride anymore because of her arthritis, so she keeps the pasture in order. I'm looking to get a new riding horse as soon as the weather breaks..HAHHAA... Ok, at least gets better.

Happy trails,
Sheila

Have you ever heard of Brookfield?

Even if it's a drive they have corrals and campgrounds for overnights!

Schuyler County has a couple too.

Sounds super Reckless. I'm always looking to add spots to my list. I have to say, Michigan had some awesome horse events including the shore to shore ride. I'm hoping to find some fun NY stuff, makes me a little less homesick

Thanks!!
Sheila

I know some folks that have gone to Lake George and Saratoga. The Double M Western Store and Painted Pony have rodeos and Barrel Racing every weekend.
Sounds like fun.

I tried but failed once again. I am trying to get my hubby to make me a trail through our woods. Maybe I'll have to fire up that new track loader he just bought and blaze my own trail.

Not only do I not have a trail but I need a riding horse too!
