Where is everyone?

Ok this may seem like a weird question but I was wondering where everyone is located. Id like to see who is closest to me so maybe we can find some new riding buddies!

As my Avatar shows I am just east of Central MO on hwy 70. There are a couple of state parks in the central area that have nice trails. Went to Rudolph Bennet with my trainer buddy last summer. Not sure where you are, but if you go to the Missouri State Parks website the have a listing of the equestrian trails by area. I ordered a brochure with all the trails listed.

I am in the Kansas City area - the Kansas side actually. I love Eagle's Ranch - in Collins, MO - great camp area, stalls for the horses, food for you if you choose - when you arrive, they clean out your trailer for you while you are setting up - very nice!

Oh, and they have cabins if you don't have a LQ trailer.

I think I am a little far out to be an acutal riding buddy I am actually in KS. But I am like 4 hours from Jasper, MO. Which I think is close to Joplin (sort of). We went to Jasper to get a dog...so thats a point of reference for me.

I wish I was closer!

Well, Rolla is only about 2 hours from me. My parents used to live in Cuba, and I bought one of our horses in Steelville, looked at a trailer in Salem. Went farther than that to look at a horse that didn't work out.

Wow, Alliebath, that sounds like a really nice place.

Aw, Going To Tell, isn't there anybody out your way, honey? I wouldn't mind driving 2 or 3 hours, but I'm not dragging a trailer through a city I have a heart attack when we head to MI on vacation and hubby drags the pop-up camper through Chicago. Those people are NUTS!!

Horses&Soccer- LOL I agree. I have become a country bumpkin. I hate driving in the city. Heck even shoping gives me headaches. TOO many people! I have a few people but they are like an hour away. So its usually me and the hubby. I need to get my "xtra horse" broke....right now I have one really good one. One lame retired barrel horse and a colt. So when others want to ride I have an a horse I trust and I can ride the colt!

Kaintuck or Big Piney should be pretty close to you. If you head east there's Jerktail, Shawnee, Broadfoot, Two rivers and Blair Creek. To the west is the Lead mines area and Trail of Four Winds. Go to the website, the state is split into areas and there are a whole lot of trails nearly straight east of Rolla. They are all listed as having equestrian trails. If this blasted rain would ever quit, I'd love to get a ride on my new boy.

Oh, Going To Tell, I'm with you. I absolutely can't stand crowds, the mall makes me crazy, I have a hard enough time going to Wal Mart anymore. Since we moved here 16 yrs ago, the town has nearly tripled in size. I'm ready to move farther out, but, you know you can't sell anything right now.

If you all decide on a place to go I'd love to join up for a ride! I know my daughter will be delighted to go to.

You know more about my area than I do. I had no idea there were places to ride that close other than Paddy Creek Cedar Grove or Eminence.

No, Stef, I don't, I'm getting all this info from the website. I have been looking for places to ride and this website is the best. Just put mostateparks.com into your browser and look for what you want. there are a few that even have camping with horses Sam A Baker, Cuiver River, Knob Noster, and St. Joe. St. Joe is down by Scrapchick and is where they are having their St. Jude ride. It's an excellent site for all kinds of State Park info.

No, I've not been to Emminence. I've been to several State parks, but not with the horses. The only one I've ridden at is Rudolph Bennet and that's up by Centralia. I know Cuivre River has trails, because I've been there, but not ridden there. We just got horses summer before last and last summer we finally got a trailer. So, now I'm ready to go!

I'm just north of Springfield for now, be we are relocating to the KC area soon. (As in next week. )

I am horseless, but once we get settled in, I think I may go horse hunting.

equinelaw - welcome to KC (I think it is welcome back for you isn't it?). If you need anything, just let me know. We are in Leavenworth, just outside of KC - so wherever you land, let me know if I can be of any help
