Horsey things in your area #2 // Updated

We went by Hurleys and met a super nice couple.
On March 14 and 15 there will be mounted shooting going on and you can join or watch. Will be at Hurleys in Clarksville.
There is a Friday night roping every Firday night, weather permits, on 23 just out of Ozark. I will get the directions.

Then every Saturday, the horse club here meets and has all different games and such with an added harness classes coming up.
I will get the dates and post.

We are planning on going to the mounted shooting and probably join.
Now I know for sure I wont be breeding Bonnie back. I will have to much we are going to be doing.
Also thinking of putting OT in the harness classes. They are going to have harness teaching classes to.

Mounted Shooting is fun!!!! Cowboy did mounted shooting before we got him and I tried it out one time and fell in love. Its just a big expense to buy all the equipment at first. I am wanting to get a gun and the balloon things whenever we get some extra money and maybe start competing when the kids are a little older. Have fun and make sure to take pictures of course.

Hurleys has alot of things going on. They had a cutting last weekend and I think they have a barrel racing one night a week. I'm not sure which night but I'm too far away to go.

Mounted shooting is a BLAST but I must warn it's VERY VERY expensive!

We used to practice at least 1 a week and you'd run about 3 times per practice, 5 dollars for bullets per practice run (so 15 bucks per night) memebership fee's run about 50 bucks, Guns are VERY EXPENSIVE, and you should invest in lots of tampons... We put them in the horses ears so it's not so loud on them

We are planning to attend this since the Illinois Horse Fair was canceled.
Hope to see some of you there!

Is anyone going to the March to the Arch show in ST Louis this weekend? I think we are going...don't know if it will be just me and my daughter or if my husband is going too. We aren't taking any horses, just going to watch on Saturday.

The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture is having their 9th annual Horse Festival the last weekend of March. I've never been before (and probably won't be going this year either) but a friend of mine has been there and she said it's great. Lots of demonstrations, vendors, etc.
The web address is: www.horsefestival.org
