Ice Storm

Here we go again....

How is it in your area? It looks like we're about to lose some trees, and those power lines are looking awfully saggy

It's ugly here. It sleets, then it stops, then it sleets, then it stops, then the wind blows, and its really cold, like 18 or so. Supposed to get more ice in a few hours. Took my assistant 2-1/2 hours to get from Pevely to Farmington which is normally about a one hour trip. People driving like maniacs on I55.
The trusty beetle got me home but I'm locked down with Pepsi, Jack Daniels, smokes, and butter pecan ice cream. I can stay in here forever with supplies.

That's what it's doing here too. I barely touched my brakes and it started sliding. Hubby wanted ME to go get the daughter from work and follow her over to the mechanic. Her car has an appointment tomorrow, oil leak/tranny leak, today it went for weird electrical issues. Hey, the poor thing has 210k on it. I said I'm not going anywhere, you go get her! I know school will be closed tomorrow, man, I wish they'd close work - just once!

I couldn't check on the horsies today....but that's what daddies are for, right?

He said they're fine, for what it's worth. More ice tonight, but hopefully the roads will be good enough that I can see them tomorrow and make sure they're all right.

Apparently a mare at the barn where I board popped out a colt last night. I guess it's fine and healthy, but sheesh, couldn't she have picked a better time?

Well if you skate over there tomorrow, take pics of baby!
I have a feeling I will be late to work tomorrow.
Hope everybody in this nasty ice storm is at home and safe!

We've had ice since about 9 am Monday morning and it is still on and off. Luckily it is a "dry" ice - I know, that sounds funny, but the sleet is coming down in little ice balls and is staying in little ice balls even on the ground - kind of loose and crunchy. Thank goodness it isn't sticking to the trees or anything....and the best part....I drive a school bus - so no school means no work! I get to sleep in in the morning!

I'll be uploading some pictures of our house in "Random Stuff" shortly, and hopefully some horse pictures later, if I manage to make it to the barn.

Well, no school today and I haven't heard for tomorrow yet. There isn't hardly any traffic on the road today, but we live on a blacktop county road so the main ones may be better. It has still been misting/icing more today but luckily no more accumulation. It is windy and not good to be out - we have all had a bad cold the last week. I am getting really bored....I am heading to the barn to pick stalls now.

Does anyone else notice that all we talk about in here is the weather?
Is it really that bad or are we that boring? I am hoping it really is that bad. I wish I had something good and exciting to tell you..... hmm, nope, can't think of anything at the moment.
