Storms

How is everyone? I know the storms came close to some of you. We just got rain and wind; the worst of it went north of us.

It missed us also - feelling very fortunate. Hope everyone is okay. This has been a rough and deadly evening for Arkansas.

This has been a rough night, particularly for Arkansas. Is everyone OK?

We just had simple thunderstorms near Springfield and are creeping toward snow this evening.

Hope everyone made it through unscathed.

Thoughts and prayers to my HT Friends in the Storm areas

Because I have been through a few hurricanes and have had tornados too ****ed close..........

I know the fear , and the inconvenience of no electric ( and no water).

So I hope all of you ( and your loved ones) in the storm path are safe and sound. I hope your animals are too.

Please leave us a Post and let us know you are OK

I am here. Got real nasty, but all is well.
Freezing now and going to try and get down the mountain for work.
Not use to driving in ice and snow. Not like this back in FL.
Hopefully I wont slid down the driveway into a ditch. We are on the side of a mountain and its frozen ground out there..Snowing added in on that and I am in for a real trial in driving.
Went to work yesterday and what a mess to get around in.

Prayers for those families that lost loved ones. We kept an eye on that tornado that was on the ground for 35 miles.
Scary stuff.

Here in the St Louis area we had record temps on Monday, record rainfall yesterday. Crazy weather south of here last night but nothing except rain, lightening, thunder. Ridiculous weather for February.

Hope everybody in the path of last nights/this mornings storms doing ok, check in if you get a minute so we know everyone is ok.

I just talked to DM - Bowling Green was hit hard last night - supposedly one of the worst tornados in US history - we are on the way out at this point.. hopefully another 30 minutes...

My heart and prayers go out to all of these folks.. how awful..

I hope this weather is not an indicator of our upcoming spring here in the tornado belt, although the rain is most welcome.

Hope the storm blows past you quickly with no damage, gbar.

Thinking safe thoughts for everybody in the path.

We're fine here. It rained pretty hard then later in the evening we had really thick fog. It snowed for a while this morning.
We have family in NE Arkansas and friends around Heber Springs, we haven't heard from them so we're assuming all is well.

I live just south of Heber Springs and we just got rain and wind here. It all went further north.

I have always wondered when you are in tornado country, and you receive the warnings that a tornado is immenent, what do you do with your horses and other livestock? I can't imagine seeking shelter for my self and having to leave my horse out to fend for himself, but whatelse can be done..

My heart goes out to all of you in the storm areas -- heartbreaking...

Our animals are pastured, so it's not like they are locked in a stall. They are safer outside than inside.

I can tell you that when a tornado went close to my parents' home last spring, the cattle were the first indication that something was wrong. The entire herd stampeded into a sheltered valley. My mom saw this before she heard the tornado. She had been working outside and was unaware that there was even a tornado watch for the area.

ETA: I talked to my dad this morning, they live in Lawrence county and were fine. Highland (in Sharp County) was hit hard. The shopping center is gone along with several restaurants. As far as he knew, there were no fatalities in Highland.

I got hit by a tornado last night - Kim and Cascy, it was the one that started at Atkins. House and horses are OK, but lost one of my barns.

I'm out of pocket, and have no electric - not sure when I will be back on unless I make it back to work Friday. May stay in a motel tonight - maybe they will have a computer.

Oh Face.....glad you and yours and your horses and assuming any other critters are ok, so sorry to hear you lost a barn, that sucks, but it certainly could have been much worse. Thank you for checking in, we were worried about you.

Wish Kim and Cascy would check in!

We made it through ok, Brad is on the fire department so we were out most of the night clearing roads, then took a break for dinner, but when I got home my house was still perched on it's hill so I guess it all turned out alright on this end.

I'm so glad to hear that every one is doing okay. Sorry to hear about the barn though. I hope the worst is over for all of you. Prayers to all those in need.
