Cascy and Mule
Please do check on both of the horses mentioned. I am not familiar with Fox Trotters but we are surrounded by them here so there ought to be folks who can answer questions for me if I have any.
Cascy,Are the FT like walkers? My track record with walkers isn't too good. Both of the ones I had needed to be worked really well before they were willing to settle down and ride. I don't know if I just wasn't giving correct ques or if I just had bad luck and got pig stubborn horses.
I currently have Arabians and am familiar with quarter horses. Odly enough the Arabs and I do great but two are unbroken and the riding gelding has fallen in love with my husband. Once an Arab bonds it is forever and Reif is too good with Jim to try to take him for me..
I would just like to get into a horse that I can ride without a lot of sparks flying when they decide its a good day to be a horse. Later on my grandbabies will need a safe calm horse to learn on. I know I make it sound like I need a babysitter for myself but actually I can ride, just out of shape and out of pratice.
I am looking on the net but would go to ride the horse first so weather would be a factor as would distance. A couple of hours is ok but much further would create some difficulties.
I appreciate all the help from you all. I know my horse is out there somewhere, and with the great assistance and suggestions I am getting it should be home soon.
