PFI

www.pfiwestern.com

Next time you're near Springfield, be sure to check out PFI. They recently added a whole new building dedicated to saddles, tack, and equipment, so their old building is now completely full of boots and clothing. They've also got a wine and food shop, for some reason.

I've been to a few "big" Western stores (Cavender's and Drysdales, for example), and honestly none of them could compare, with the possible exception of one in Jackson, MS....was it called Boots something?

Springfield also has a couple other worth-while farm/Western/tack stores that are worth a look--Race Brothers and JRs.

They are pretty pricey--but you can't beat them for window shopping!

I had forgotton all about them. I used to get their magazine years ago. I had ordered a denim vest wtih bones/conchos across the front (indian looking) that I still have. It's very nice. Thanks for the link and reminder about them.

Sounds like the front porch is the place to be! I can't afford to do any more "window shopping".

Speaking of Festus, I noticed that a couple of their high school music groups made it to the MMEA convention at Tan-Tar-A! Congratulations to your home town! That's quite an honor.

My band's going, as well--it's the first time in over 30 years that a Springfield high school band has be accepted (they only take the top five or so groups in the state).

Wish us luck that there's no crash-and-burn!

I didn't even know they had a catalog. I guess they figure locals don't need it.

Good luck and congrats! When is it? One of the Festus choir directors is the choir director at our church (Josh Rhine). He is tremendously talented.
Thanks for the kudos and no crash-and-burn!!!

The convention is this coming Friday through Sunday, maybe longer, I believe. Our performance is at 10:30 am Friday.

My friend thinks there's a horse stable at the resort, and that is will be open to ride in January. I think she's nuts.....but we'll see.

Can you picture a bunch of over-excited, adrenaline-filled, 14-18-year olds running around Tan-Tar-A? That will be my weekend. I guess as senior drum major I'll have to set a good example.

Haven't been to Branson since before Jesse was born, so....20 years ago? Even then it was Blue Hair Central, and the traffic was a nightmare. I do like Starvin' Marvin's, though.

Actually, I might know them. I was a middler at Central (have you heard about the MYSP for sixth through eighth graders?), so this is actually my seventh year there.

Are you in the Central yearbook? What year? I'm going to look you up!

Willard? Jerk! That's the school that spray-painted our field last year. The two bands are sometimes friends, always rivals.
