Need a beginner-type horse

I started a thread in "Advice About Buying And Selling. I am now looking for a safe, sane, beginner-type, kid/hubby-broke horse for myself. I will never be the person that Destiny needs, she's way too much for me. I have been searching since yesterday with lots of help from others. Thanks loads guys, esp. Scrapchick. She suggested I bring this to this forum (duh! why didn't I think of that). Need to keep the price under $1000, as far as possible. If anybody knows of anything, please let me know. I would prefer to get a horse from someone I can trust, no more sale barns for me!

There is a friend of mine that has a tb mare and gelding that would be great. They are asking 500 for them, and I've watch and 6 yr old boy ride them everywhere. They are pretty tall though, I think the mare is 15.2 and the gelding is 16.1

I'm a little leery of TB's now. When I bought Destiny a very small 14 yo was riding her (I thought the girl was 10, she was tiny). But if you could get more info I wouldn't mind looking.

I understand what your saying. I'd be leary too, but my friend who has only been on a horse twice in her life rode them both and never had a mins. worth of trouble so I think they are pretty nice. I'll try to get his number for you so maybe ya'll can talk.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for anything else as well.

Gotta love the enablers!

Cascy - would you pleeaase, get info on the cute little MFT you showed me earlier. I'd love to check her out, she's absolutely gorgeous.

Being barely 5", I'd like to stay with a slightly shorter horse

I think you would love a foxtrotter, not that I am biased and neither is Cascy. They are versatile, smooth, easy to train, gentle, all good things rolled up into one gorgeous package. she is adorable.

I called my parents, they are wanting 2500 for her so I think she might be out of your price range We'll find one though so don't worry

Yeah, that's about double what I can spend right now. Too, bad.

Got an e-mail back from "Jillari", but I can't open the pics. I'll call my computer whiz buddy later and see what he can tell me.

Okay Scrapchick, I e-mailed you that file. When I try to open it it reads "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel" what the??? If your whiz kid can tell this computer idiot what THAT means and how to fix it, this idiot will be forever grateful.

I'll keep my eyes open, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head. By the way, you have 666 posts.

I was drooling over the Morgan's on another post so I did a search in Missouri for Morgans, there is one for sale in Hawks Point, but she is bred.
Ok, my house isnt cleaning itself and my horse misses me. I have to get off here and go be productive....drag. more later.
