Anything "horsey" in our area?

Just thought I'd see if ya'll know of anything "horsey" going on around the area that I havn't heard of yet...

We go to the london sale, and sometimes the county line sale around here, but other then that nothing to "horsey" going on.

Playdays will start around march, anyone else have something to add?

We haven't been doing anything this winter. Hubby usually team ropes at Damascus on Sat nights but hasn't this winter since he's still recovering from the shoulder surgery. I'm not sure about up by you but around here there is usually a barrel racing or team roping somewhere, at least on the weekends. There is a barrel racing on Tues nights at Quitman, there is a team sorting practice on Friday nights just south of El Paso. There are horse sales at Drasco and Beebe. I can't think of anything else at the moment but I know there is more-we just don't go anywhere.

I wish there was a "beginner friendly" team sorting practice closer to where I am...would love to try it on my mule. The Drasco horse sale is only about 20 minutes from where I live - I may have to stop by one night. Just depresses me when I can't buy the sad ones... With two 20+ guys who just eat equine senior non-stop, I can't afford a project/rescue.

There are lots of trail rides around the state as well. The ATRA has rides planned all the time. Check in the Roundup for a schedule. Some of the rides are up your direction.
I would guess that there is stuff going on at Hurley's pretty often. I know they have alot of barrel races.

We're about 25 or 30 minutes from the Drasco sale but we are to the south. We rarely go. We go to some team ropings and barrel races when we have time. Where are you located?

There is usually something going on around here. Several sales and some team sorting practices right now. I'm not sure how close you guys are located, but I do know that there is a new consignment sale coming up in Poplar Bluff MO on Jan 19. We are going. If it seems like a good turn out we may take a couple down in March when they have another sale scheduled. Some of our guys team sort somewhere in Poplar Bluff when they are not sorting around here.

Do you have any info on the sale in Poplar Bluff? Do they have a website?

Lopintoo, thanks for the info. If you go, let me know how the sale is. Poplar Bluff isn't that far from us and I am always looking for new sales to go to.

I'm not sure I can talk hubby into it. We have alot to do and he has to check his heifers late this afternoon. We a good couple of hours from London so not sure we can make the timing work. But if it starts raining or something I might try.
If I don't make it, you two have fun and don't buy everything you see.
