McVeigh Ranch Ride
I'd like to invite you all to our annual local trail ride that my neighbor puts on every fall. We ride through over 3000 acres of cattle ranch, through creeks and streams, up big hills and little hills and if we time it right a beautiful maple tree covered hillside that is often completely ablaze with color.
The ride is open to the public, we get all kinds of horses and riding abilities though I would suggest that you have a fair amount of experience and ride a horse in fairly good shape because of the hills. Shoes not necessary though they're always a good idea. There will be cows and/or calves on the ride plus the short ride through the bull pasture. Chasing or otherwise harassing the critters is not allowed though. We also ride past a lake that is usually covered with Canada's that like to take flight and land repeatedly as we ride around it.
Date: October 5th (1st Sunday) Rain or Shine!
Location: Just outside of Mora, MN in East Central part of the state.
Time: Ride leaves his driveway promptly at 11am!
Length: Usually back by 4pm though a group cuts out early for those who choose.
Bring: Sandwich lunch for on the ride if you choose, Potluck item for afterwards to share.
Lots of trailer parking, water is available though I'd suggest bringing your own cause it's a small hike from the barn to the trailer parking area. Lots of water on trail! No dogs on trail, they must stay in your trailer if you have to bring them.
If someone wants to come from out of town the night before shoot me a PM, I have a round pen and a little bit of parking room though not a whole lot.
