Ok did I miss the memo???

I must have missed the memo that said "All horses for sale will be on the WI/MN border or the WI/IA boarder, the rest of the state will be an equine black hole."

Oh you missed that one did you, it was right alongside the one that states than any sane sensible weight carrying older horse that someone wants a good home for, will be at least 2 days drive from Saskatchewan.

yep or the horse that you like will be many 1200 miles away.. I just have either decided to drive and look at the ones that I want or just to buy them and have them shipped..

if I have a specific criteria in mind then traveling usually goes with it. If I just want a horse then I can find one for sale within a few miles..

Everytime I find a horse that I like, the darn thing is on the west side of the state...seriously doesn't ANYONE in the Fox Valley have a horse for sale that is a little on the short and beefy side?

So true! When I was looking I swear all the horses were in your neck of the woods Iwasbornonahorse! When I was selling I got several e-mails from people in Iowa saying he was exactly what they were looking for. Is it some kind of weird joke the horse gods play on us?

I am beginning to think no one in South East Wisconsin is looking to buy a nice horse. I have lowered my Appy mare to $750 and not one looker. Can't figure it out.

Same here, I have lowered the price on my 7 yr old gelding and have only had 3 inquiries and everyone seems interested but never follows through. We just had to have $835 worth of repairs on our truck and a $161 dentist bill for my son, and our 3 yr old black lab ran away all on the same day -----so selling my horse would be a huge plus.

I've had a couple of inquiries...but that is it on Sadie...I can't wait any longer...I emailed the trainer who offered to buy her when I first put her up for sale...price is way low...but..he will put time on her, and get her sold...(also I just really don't want to deal with someone I don't know, after my experience with Izzy going...at least with Jim, I know where she's going, what he will do, and Jim knows what he's getting) I just can't justify financially having a horse that we can't do anything with...my daughter is finally understanding, its going to be hard for both of us to let this mare go...but...it has to be. Also, that money would be used to pay our feed bill...we need to get another load before the grain price sky rockets again...

Someone told me to list my Appy at around $3000. That is what people pay for sound, well broke horses. That they don't even look at the cheap ones. Has anyone else found this to be true?

Um, no. However, I agree that if a horse is priced low in comparison to it's training, I get a little suspicious. Just humane nature I suppose, as everyone has a different few on what is worth $. I see young, untrained horses going for $1500+ and where I would never pay that, I'm sure there are many people that would like a clean slate. I think I saw your appy listed for $750? Right? My initial reaction was, what's the catch? If I could have another horse, though, I'd be calling you.
