Brrrrrrrrrrrr

Okay it is now June 11th, and it is so cold! What is going on? I actually had to turn on the furnace this morning to take the chill out of the house....it was 58 degrees in here. I don't remember ever having to run my furnace in June! Is summer ever going to get here? I don't think we got above 50 yesterday, and it doesn't look much better here. My poor garden, I don't think it is even going to sprout! Hope everyone is staying warm and dry.

I will feel sorry for Joe come about January or so. He'll wonder what the heck is going on. Did I miss a post somewhere of pics of him in his new digs? I would love to personally meet him. He is a beautiful boy.

Keep pushing that rain north, we're still well down in moisture, haven't even got the cows out on their summer grazing yet, they're currently grazing what was supposed to be a hay field

Some warmth wouldn't hurt either, it currently says we're at 55F, but I'm not believing that.

You can come and visit him any time.. I think I posted pictures of Joe.. let me go and find one for you..
He thinks its just fine to be in his stall when its cold and rainy.. When its not then he's out eating grass.. He'll get a blanket for winter.. If this weather keeps up much longer he might get one sooner..

here are a couple of pictures of him all tucked in nice and warm in his stall:

You know we wait and wait all winter long for summer and it finally gets here...and it still feels like winter. Something is wrong with this picture!

I heard a disturbing thing on the radio the other day--the weather guys are predicting lower than average temperatures for our neck of the woods through July. Hope they're wrong (like usual!)

I dont mind lower temps if by lower temps you mean 70s instead of 80s/90s. I do not like the high temps. I almost pulled out my winter riding pants yesterday!! It was 46 when I left to go riding yesterday. No wonder everyone has colds. We have a day of 80s and then a day of 40s. Yuck!!!!

Wow, we don't get to cut our first crop for another month, even with the best of weather. This year it has been so cold and dry that we don't even have much grazing yet, and hay will be a real worry

Hehe, nice to know that there is a welcome mat out for them there

We shouldn't have an issue with hay for the horses, they don't eat that much really, and I always reckon that we cut their hay first, then the cattle hay. The boys seem to think that we cut hay for the cows first, and then the horse hay, don't know how they figure that

The situation has been eased lots we've had 2 1/2" rain over the last week so things are starting to grow at last. The alfa is looking OK, but we've had to graze 100 acres of alfa/grass mix that was designated for hay.

I was just thinking that as a kid I used to go swimming in the lake this time of year I bought a sweatshirt yesterday, it proudly states that I am a Charter Member of the P*ss and Moan About Everything Club True dat! Although to tell you the truth the late spring kept the bugs away for a couple weeks and I liked that. And it makes sleeping much nicer. But today I'm down in the cities and its warm - p-u
