Severe Weather

Batten down the hatches for the severe weather heading our way!
Anyone else keeping an eye on it?

I made sure the storage room was cleaned up, put water and flashlights down there. Here at work, we are to be prepared for worse case scenario (another tornado) so we are keeping an eye on how it's going.

I have to admit I don't have anything ready for the storm..
We have decent weather at the moment here.

We have so much rain here! One of the dorms at the University of Iowa was actually evacuated last night because of the rising water. I'm tired of wearing my muck boots thru all the seasons

This storm is supposed to miss us - I'm in the northern metro and according to last night's weather, it should stay south. It's good that you're prepared. Be careful and check in later.

You know it must be bad when they have been predicting a tornado (for today) since Monday.

Checking in............. here in Chaska.
I am the one that monitors the weather for our company. Its moving from the south west to the north east...... And its BIG.
Chances are you will get wet if not a bad storm if you live anywhere in the vicinity of 100 miles of the TC.

It was really bad here this morning. Hail , high winds, down pours. Now it is very steamy. We are suppose to be in for worse storms tomarrow. I don't have a basement, but I have a closet in the hall, suppose I should make room incase I need to go in there. First time i have ever lived in a house without a basement. Don't have to worry about water seeping into the basement, but no where to go in bad weather.

They "say" that your bathtub is supposed to be a place to go too......... I have no clue.
Now which corner of your basement are you supposed to hunker down in again? SW or SE ???

It looks like we'll be getting the storm here shortly, though there are no tornadoes predicted here, thank goodness.

Everyone stay safe!

We were dark enough over the noon hour that our yard light came on. Storms went just north and just south, we got some wind and rain but nothing else thank goodness. The heaviest part of those 2 storms got some quarter-sized hail, no tornadoes though. Still overcast here, but not as dark.

We've just gotten a ton of rain the last 2 weeks - it just doesn't quit! We just put our rain gauge out finally, last night, so I don't know exactly how much; from what we've heard though, several inches.

We're in both a tornado watch and flood watch until 7:00 tonight.

DDD, I'll bet it's the same system that was down here earlier. Part of that storm system was moving at 67 mph!

My daughter called me from home (Courtland area) to tell me it was hailing there.
I work in St. Peter, and it is just very dark and rainy - I have seen worse then this though..
I think the worst is past us for now- I think we are to have another round later tongiht..
I had heard this morning that some weather experts thought the Mankato area would have a tornado and that 4 storm chasers were in the vicinity but I don't know if that was true or not. Hope it is past now.
