HT TrailRide/Meeting:Brushy Creek Iowa-6/21-22

I couldn't find our old thread so I started a new one.

I'm just checking to see who all still plans on coming and what day(s).
If you plan on coming, please reply here so that I can add you to the list. I know some already have their campsites reserved so please, list your site as well. I forgot what number my site was, so Pam, could you please list it for me.

Those coming for sure:

Kindredspiritsia and Family: 6/19-6/23 Campsite #29
Quilting and friend:6/21 Campsite #30
TDH and Hubby: 6/20-21 Campsite #32

Also, as we get closer to the date, we can give out more information such as who will be driving and pulling what, so we can find each other and I will also PM my cell # to anyone who wants it.

I am so excited!...WOO!HOO!

I'm getting excited about it too, it's only a little over 2 weeks away!!

We're in #32, and will only be staying Friday night the 21st. Will be driving our black and silver Dodge Ram pulling a gray bumper hitch trailer, matching graphics on them both.

I would LOVE to come, but gas prices would eat me alive and plus Gem's gone lame on me

I am unfortunately not able to attend either. Some good friends of ours are having a 2 day clinic at their barn and I have to be there! Maybe we can try and plan another one maybe late summer or early fall?

I'm sorry you guys won't be able to make it. I hear ya' on the fuel prices though.

Teresa, I hope you're bringing Michael. I am really looking forward to meeting you.

ETA:
I'll be driving a teal Chevy Extended pickup pulling a blue gooseneck horse trailer. Both are old, faded, and don't match a hoot.

I am coming and bringing Pixiefly and a friend from work. We have campsite #30 and Kindred you have #29.

I have given STRICT orders to my son to have our F250 repaired by then as he says its currently not safe to drive. I am praying Pixiefly and my friend from work is still able to come and help with expenses because the diesel will kill me by myself!!!

I'm determined to come though because I really need this time away!!!

I should know in the next day or two if I can come. My truck/trailer have major hail damage and I'm still dealing with the insurance company on the repairs. It definitely won't be fixed by then, but as long as they are not totaling it, I will come - and I will be very easy to spot - it looks like I got attacked by a sledgehammer.

Pam, what day are you coming over and how long will you be staying?

Also, are we all still planning on a having a PotLuck BBQ?
If so, I will make a new list of what everyone is planning on bringing. If ya'll decide against it, that is fine too.

I'm sorry to hear about your trucks Pam and AppleJack .

At this time, I don't think we'll be making it.

The trailer is sitting at the Sundowner lot in Northfield so wether it sells or not - we won't have one to use in the next couple weeks unless we get REALLY lucky(which doesn't happen with us)!

I am planning on coming early Sat. morning - possibly Friday night??? depending if Pixiefly and my friend Angie can come and staying until Sunday noon or so.

I like the idea of a bar-b-q. I am bringing some elk kabbobs and/or chicken for the grill.

I'm sorry to hear that so many can't come. I'm hoping situations change so that more people can come.

If my son doesn't get our F250 fixed then I'm going to use his crew cab truck

I am so disappointed I won't be able to come. I know Luv2Ride won't be able to either. We don't have a trailer yet..........So, We are taking our boys to a youth rodeo that day. They are excited! You guys have fun and take lots of pictures!!! Maybe a date in the Fall will work better for us! Especially if we can get these gas prices to go down.

We're still planning on coming - just 2 weeks from today!

One question to those of us still planning on going....

What if it's still this wet - and the trails get closed for that weekend, so we can't ride? Would we want to try to reschedule?

Sorry you can't come, Amanda. I was hoping I could meet you too.

Good question Teresa.
I guess I'm planning on going regardless as our site is already reserved and I really need a break from our day to day life.
Even if it means just riding through the campground, at least you get a chance to meet new "horse folk", that's always fun.

I am really hoping things dry up by then but who knows. I know we are suppose to be getting rain everyday though next week. Belle had a show Sunday but I'm assuming they will cancel it as the arena will be flooded
.

I'm sorry so many folks are unable to come.

That is a good question Teresa.

I will probably still try to come and ride around the campground too since I also have reservations (I'm not sure if you can even get a refund for them???).

I really need the get away to tell the truth. I asked my husband if he would come with me if the others cancel on me and he is thinking about it

You never know I may get some fishing done inbetween raindrops

I put the fear of God in my son and so he's supposed to fix our F250 this weekend

I'll be completely honest, we talked about that and decided we can't afford to drive that distance and then not ride.... better for us if we are out the 40 bucks reservation, rather than over $200 in gas. So if the trails are closed that Friday morning before we leave....we won't be coming.

Let's just hope it's dry by then!

Cripes - I think we need to invest in sea horses instead of the 4-legged kind!

I totally understand Teresa.

It looks like it may be just the kids and me. Due to this nasty ol' weather, Rick may have to be in the field that weekend. Ahh well, what can ya' do?

Although, if ya' don't hear from me after the weekend it's because I am locked away in some insane asylum due to spending 4-5 days camping with 5 children, 4 horses, and 2 dogs all by myself.
