That would be great if you guys could make it! I plan to ride a lot with the boys going back to school! We're going to Brighton on the 8th during the day if you'd like to go as well. On of my boarders and Martha from Paw Paw is riding with me.
We almost came out to share your campfire at SC last night but were so whipped from the cowboy event that we couldn't muster the energy. I'm sure you had a blast!

It went well. We didn't have as big a turn out as last year but I think with the holiday weekend and kids going back to school tomorrow, we sort of expected that. All horse/rider teams found the course challenging and stated they would like to come again next year. A daughter and her mother took 1st and 2nd place on some nicely trained horses. We had people from a mounted division as well as avid trail riders competing. All cowgirls this year! Should have called it Extreme Cowgirl instead!! It's always a task to create obstacles that are challenging as well as natural as possible. We had a large tack vendor there with tons of tack from dewormers up to saddles! I bought some Black Rock leather conditioner, a pony halter and new cinch for my son's horse. Fun day and can't wait until next year!

I'll PM you later with the time. I have to contact the other two riders coming with me.

that is too cool. Maybe some day i can have my mare do that,, but it sounds like she will need alot more training! Hey do you have any ideas for me as to help my mare get better about water? I can bathe her, but the water that is running on the ground makes her totally freaks out! or if i have to cross even a small puddle of water she will jump about 20 feet high and wide!!! needless to say i would much rather have her walk through it nicely..... Oh yea what time do you want to meet at brighton??

We are leaving here at 9 am and will be at Brighton ready to ride around 11 am. Can't wait to meet you and your mare!
My suggestion for getting your mare used to water is just keep working with her on going into it. Start by leading her and work your way to riding through. Work on ground work building her trust in you, then she'll do anything you ask of her.

ok,, sounds great, i will let my g/f know too! Yes i have been working on the ground with her, she seems to be more confident with me in the saddle. Not sure why, but we both still have a lot of "ground"(no pun intended) to cover with eachother as a team.

Awesome! I can't wait! Most like to stay at a walk but my boarder/friend and I like to go at a little faster pace (you know how I am) so we're planning to go on a few rides for those who like to 'git it'. You're invited to come ride along with us.

I'll be with the git crowd - LeRoy won't lead yet at a cantor or a gallop but we'll go for SURE! I have two that are coming who are slower riders but they can do their own thing

I think there will be enough people there that there will be a pace for everyone. Some of my good friends are walkers only though so I will be riding with them the majority of the time but do stop by to see if I'm available b/c I'd like to go if I am.

Sounds like fun--maybe not for overnite-- it will be pretty cold to sleep in a tent but maybe my daughter and I could go for a day ride
I will have to look at schedules she is in cross country and my son is in football(bantams) so saturdays are usually booked. Will you be riding on sunday??

If you want to do a good amount of riding, I think Saturday would be your best bet. I have a white Ford F-250 and an old purple horse trailer. Yes, I said purple!!
