Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........jealous that you got to see our beloved Lucky in person. He really is a cutie pie--there is just something about him. I love the mohawk shot---looks like he is a throw back from the 80's. The dapple shot was a little personal There was something there other than the dapples that caught my eye. I have mares and never have to deal with that Keep the fan thread going.

Sorry about the 'parts' shot!! lol I just put them out on the pasture this morning and apparently he was ~slightly~ happy about it!! One of my boarders wants to buy him but after this last experience with trading him and getting him back, I don't want to do that again!
Tonight I was walking the fence to check it and he followed right behind me the whole way. He's a pocket pony!
I'll keep the updates and pictures coming.
He's only the second horse I bought from the kill pen. Sunshine was my first and I kept her too! She's the Belgian in my avatar for those that don't know of her.

Sooo. since y'all liked the 'parts' shot, here's a new revelation from this evening. He's figuring out what the parts are for! Worst thing is~it's a boarder's horse he's mounting! My innocent little Lucky has been lured to the dark side by a harlot mare!! LOL

Oh no-----just like everyother male I have ever known-----Lucky has realized he has a second brain that overrides the first one when anything containing estrogen walks by . I hope he wasn't able to fully perform. Seems like there have been several threads lately about unexpected romances going on. Lucky--listen to your mother, be a good boy and wait for the right girl (or actually until a really nice human called a vet comes to make a special visit to you )

He's a gelding so I'm not worried. I took pictures b/c he looks so weird mounting a horse when he still looks so juvenile! I didn't post them here b/c I didn't want to offend anyone.

Lucky has warts all over his muzzle. I called the vet and he said I can put Compound W on them OR just wait, they will go away on their own. YUK! Any thoughts?

I've had an issue with muzzle warts on a few of my horses before. I did some research and found that a fly can be a carrier for a bacteria that causes the warts, but it's nothing serious and it usually clears up on it's own within a few weeks. If I remember correctly, once they have it they gain an immunity from it. I think that's true because I've not see an outbreak on any of my horses since. My vet also told me I could put Compound W on them, or just let them run their course. Their an ugly site, but thank goodness I haven't seen them anymore. Knock on wood!

They are in clusters and really ugly! My 15 yo son didn't know what they were and tried to peel a couple off (I'm shuddering this as I type it) and when I came outside, Lucky was bleeding! I asked him if he tried to pick them off and he said yes so I told him what they were and he felt so bad. He cold compressed his muzzle and loved on him the rest of the day. I can't imagine at this point they'll go away on their own b/c there's so many! Yuk.

Aww! That's so sweet of him to go comfort him, that had to have been a Kodak moment.
Yeah, the warts my crew had were ugly things. Each horse probably had about 30 or 40 of them at one time, they slowly faded away though. I was freaking out when I first saw them. I thought they had all gotten into something and were having a reaction. My vet laughed at me for being so frantic. Thank gosh I haven't seen those ugly things anymore!

Thought I'd post an update:
Lucky's warts are completely gone!! They just started getting smaller one day and in about a week, they were gone! That was amazing!
Julian, my 15 yo son who weighs about 100 lbs soaking wet, has been laying over and sitting on Lucky's back once in a while. He's so tolerant of it. He just stands there like it's no big deal.
Just wanted to share.

I am glad that Lucky has improved. I was just thinking about him the other day when I was driving past a nice green field that looked like it needed a pony in it Hopefully you can post somemore pics of our fav poster boy too.
