Post Hosting A 3 Day Problem Solving Clinic

Are you having behavior problems with your riding horse? Are there issues you've worked on but can't seem to get fixed? My trainer friend and I are planning to host a 3 day clinic to teach owners to deal with and fix problems with their riding horse. She is an awesome trainer and just finished getting my Paso Fino under saddle. You wouldn't believe the difference in that horse! I can't even find any vices in her since she came back and she was only trained for 30 days! Our farrier could not even trim her back feet before she was trained and now she is fine on all four. She is so much fun to ride too - and I'm not the best of riders these days. She is super responsive and light in the mouth. She absolutely does everything I ask her to do and is so focused and attuned to her rider! Just amazing results in such a short time.

We had another horse that could not be trimmed. Actually she could but only after having a shot of demosedan (sp?). That is an added expense to trimming I just hated having to spend. It took her less than 10 minutes to have the horse easily giving us her feet. This horse had been a rearer on prior attempts to work with her feet. My husband and I were both amazed and totally impressed with the methods my friend used and how quickly they worked! You just have to see her results to understand how good her methods really are. You will be amazed too I think. Every time she is here, we learn so much that seems so simple AFTER she shows us..lol..

This clinic will be a 3 day event with horses stabled at my barn. I may even have some room for guests in my house. We haven't gotten all the details together yet and it's still in the planning stages but I wanted to see if anyone on HT is interested in signing up for the clinic. I believe the price will be $250 per horse for the entire event. That would be at least 5 hours per day total that everyone could attend and an hour each day with one on one attention and specific problem solving. Sitting in on everyone's session will give you insight into solving other problems should they arise or that you may be having with another horse.

I live just outside Morristown and roughly 5 miles from Interstate 81. If you would be interested in attending our clinic, please PM me and I'll get you on the list. I am tentatively planning to end the clinic with a nice trail ride that includes crossing a large creek and lots of beautiful views. We have access to over 300 acres to ride on and it's a lot of fun!

I had wondered how it was going with your Paso. This is all good to hear, sounds like you have a wonderfully behaved horse now.

Jitterbug is still green but she is like a different horse! Both myself and my trainer friend had our doubts as to whether or not I'd be able to handle her because I am not the rider I once was. But really she is very easy to manage. She still needs miles so I might eat some dirt when a horse eating something or other makes an appearance, but truly I don't think so. She was trained to stop and even when she gets spooked, she doesn't go far before she just stops and thinks about it. I couldn't be more pleased with her and I got to feel her fast walk gait and I LOVED it! Wow! She really is a great horse.

I don't plan on doing much more than a walk/trot for the next year and let her get some age and miles on her. She doesn't have any of the issues a lot of horses seem to get about standing still for mounting or loading/unloading in a trailer. She seems to be more than happy to go on a trail ride and not sour in any way. She is not herd bound at all and that's one thing I am so thankful for. I can saddle her up and ride by myself if I choose to. I am not sure any of my other horses are up to that..lol.. Possibly Dixie but I'd still have a fight initially. Just wanted to share my good news. That's another reason I wanted to try to do this clinic. There are so many issues that seem large but take minimal effort to fix. It's just knowing what to do to fix it! That's the key.
