Anyone have a large female duck for sale?

Aflac, our white drake, has lost his mate and he is heartbroken and lonely. Does anyone know where I can buy a large female duck for him? Thanks!

What kind of duck is he? I have several young muscovies on the ground - not sure which ones are females, but if one of the white ones turns out to be female, I would be willing to part with her.

Thanks Bandit!

I'm not sure what kind of duck he is. He's a big white duck, very quiet and gentle. One lady said he might be a Pekin (sp?) duck? We "rescued" him from a local old horse trader, I think he was going to eat him! So we gave him $5 and took Aflac home.

He really doesn't have to have a white female friend, just a female. My neighbor had a male duck at one time and it beat poor Aflac up, he's just not a fighter.

LOL - the reason I said any of the white ones is that I'm keeping the pie-balds. Does your duck have any red on the nose? If not, probably perkins.

Not sure if two different duck species will get along? Where is muttduck when you need her?

I dont know how far you are from Cookeville. But, they have their horse sale there and they also have a chicken, rabbit, goat, duck and other farm animal sales too. It is every Tuesday night. Its been a while since I've been but, I love to go because they have tack trucks set up and sell tack before they horses go through. Just typing this in makes me want to go back even worse. LOL. Well hope that I have helped you a little bit.

minilover - I work in Nashville during the week so might be able to go to the auction some Tuesday evening in Cookeville. Where is it held and what time?

Bandit - Aflac is a pure white duck and he kind of has a yellowish? peach? colored beak, no red on it. We have had him for about 3 years. He had a broken foot when we got him and it healed, but he still has a pretty bad limp.

Does anyone know how long ducks live?

I am thinking that the sale starts around 5 central time. It has been about a year since I've been but, I'm thinking thats when it starts. I would be come from the north so, I cant help you very much with directions. I am not good at giving them. I wish I could have been more help. Some of the other Horsetopians can help you with directions. The name of the sale is Wilsons horse and mule sale.

minilover - Thanks, I'll ask around too, some of my horse buddies may know where it is.

Bandit - If I don't find one before you know you have a girl who doesn't work for you, let me know. We could swing by on our way to Ohio maybe!
