Blanketed Appy Gelding SOLD!!

Priest is now marked SOLD.

One of my friends is selling a beautiful grade Appaloosa trail gelding. If I hadn't already run out of pasture, I'd probably buy him for my mares to play with ;o).. His name is Priest. Feel free to PM me if interested. I'll post a picture below and Here is a link to his ad:

Well, we made it home safely tonight 9 pm, and I have got him all tucked in for the night with plenty of good hay, fresh water.....and after his quarantine period, I will be riding my little heart out!.....he loaded in my trailer when the back end of the trailer was 2 feet from the ground on a hill! No problems there! He leads great, he travelled well, he has a few fencing hairloss places on his chest but that will grow out.....he will need a set of shoes on the front and I can't wait to be able to ride him! They said he does these little Andalusian remix dances because he likes it! I call it a parade dance.....either way, I just know he's going to be so much fun to ride!

From a Priest to a Cop!

Here's some photos of (I changed his name) didn't feel right straddling a Priest! So, I named him Trooper.....the son of the lady I bought him from is a policeman.....so that's why I named him Trooper.....He's taller than I thought he was.....I hope I can get my lazy butt up on him.....but it will have to wait until he gets out of quarantine.....maybe longer since he's coughing and has a knot under his throat...shipping fever?? So far, he's eating good, shedding off nicely but needs a few pounds.....and he's working on that as we speak!

Trooper got new shoes on today and my husband called me at work and said "you sure you want to ride this horse, he reared and pawed at me and the ferrier" and I replied "Oh, he did NOT! He started laughing and said "no, he fell asleep during the trimming and shoeing" and that he was a good boy!

Anyways, on with a few pix I took a couple of days ago....

I think he's wonderful....

He's definitely on the thinner side but I suppose that is better than too fat. Then you have founder to worry about. Looks like he has a nice roomy pad to hang out in I sure do like the looks of him and I like his new name too! Yea Trooper!! Can't wait till you get to ride him! Hope he gets over his cough by the time the quarantine is finished.

I haven't heard him cough at all this afternoon....I went and got him out of jail to let him graze.....boy can he graze in sequence....first, clover left to right and non stop over to crabgrass left to right then without hesitation, can spit a weed out the right side of his mouth like an old man can spit his tobacco....

AND he's already slightly spoiled....he won't eat the roundbale hay that we put a partial in there for him....he wants the mixed soft-palatable grass hay that our pregnant mare is eating....or he will scream until he gets it....then after he gets it, he's quite for the night....

He gets his daily grooming and attention.....but he does not like JAIL.....since he's not coughing this afternoon, I may get to ride him this weekend....keeping my fingers crossed!

His ground manners are stupendous....he walks with me perfectly then, when I took off running up the hill, he ran along side of me and he just looks around everywhere new that I took him, he didn't spook or blow or anything....

He's got a new set of shoes on the front and trimmings on the back and I hope I can get on him....he's taller than I thought or I shrunk since last Spring (last time I was on a horse's back)....

Hope you get to take him for a spin! Sounds like a great horse to me. They wouldn't be the same without a little bit of spoiling from the parents...
