Hay prices this year

I was just quoted 5.50 a bale for alfalfa/grass mix 1st cutting.

What are your prices looking like?

We are paying $4 a bale for either grass and/or alfalfa first cutting.

I've herd that too. And sense I can get round bales for $50 right now I'm starting to stock up for winter. I need to get covers for them first though. I was told that squar bales could be as high as $7 this fall/winter!

We are in SW Lower Michigan and Iam hearing $4.50 on the trailer and $5 out of the barn for first cut grass. We are crossing our fingers we won't have to buy any square bales this year!

I just bought 150 bales for 2.75, first cutting alfafa or however it's spelled. I had to pick it up out of the field however.

Thankfully we grow our own, but we did just quote someone $2.50 a bale grass and $3.50 a bale alfalfa. And they had to pick it up.
