Hey gang, thought I'd tell you a bit about what I'm up to, in case any of you have suggestions or leads. Here's the story in as short a nutshell as I can make it.
I currently live in the Chicago area with my own house. House is up for sale. Am wanting to move down to Southern Illinois. At the present time, I don't even have a job lined up, but work in the IT industry, so I should be able to find something somewhere . . .

Planning to find a job and horse property so that I can move myself and my one horse down there. The ultimate goal is to end up somewhere within a 2hr drive of Carbondale (zip 62901), because my folks live in that area, and to have a place for myself and up to 5 horses (hoping for 10 acres).
JOB - IMMEDIATELY - Looking for job. I do computer and server support, been at it 10 years. Have managed a helpdesk too. I'm not really expecting any leads on this particular thing, but figure what the heck will post it anyway. I would love love love to work for a police department or school system.
BOARDING - IMMEDIATELY - Looking for boarding for my (retired) clydesdale. I'm not so terribly picky on
where he ends up because I don't ride him anymore. But I do care tremendously that he's well cared for, and would prefer that he live somewhere that has draft(s). Pasture-only is fine. He's used to a stall now, but doesn't need it. Ideally, this also would be within 2hrs driving distance of Carbondale, but I'd also consider just about anyplace on the I-55 corridor between Chicago and St. Louis. Want to move in by the end of May.
PROPERTY - EVENTUALLY - Looking for horse property, preferrably around 10-15 acres; would consider something that's bare land as long as it can support a trailer and horses (i.e. not all woods). Unfortunately I can't look too hard for the property until I know where my job is going to be.
HORSE - EVENTUALLY - Looking for a good well broke trail horse, preferrably a draft or draft cross.
