Yeah I saw that! We have had SOOO much rain here & bad bad storms, I hope that they aren't a precursor to the Hurricane season!

talk about tropics...

last night when I was at the casino in coconut creek, there must of been a tropical storm that swooped across the area - big booms of lightning, heavy [I MEAN HEAVY RAIN], and STRONG tropical storm winds for like an hour......it was BAD.

After an hour, when the storm finally left, we went outside and found people standing next to their cars[4] in the parking lot of the casino and all their cars where halfway in the water ditches from the strong winds. I believe two cars drowned because their motors got submerged and the other two where pulled out w/o damage... it was very ugly outside and I felt bad for the lady who I think was crying because her car got halfway into the water ditch - never want that to happen when your loosing at the casino and then this happens to your car .

Anyways, I just hope today wouldnt be such as bad as last night. I am going to stay home today - TV/Computer infront of me for any bad weather coming soon and to keep my lightning-scared dog next to me .

We are not getting the rain we need here on the SW side/coast of Florida. Definatly not the typical summer time rain pattern......

It has been pouring down here in Broward county the whole week. I think I saw something like 6 storm systems that they are keeping an eye on out there in the Atlantic. I think I will start filling the gas cans for the generator just in case.

the skies can't make up their minds between black or lacker today. . . .

I love the break from the heat, but Sarasota is a great, big puddle. . .

I hope all is well in the Tampa area. . . visiting Mrs. Highhorse & the family and our plans got rained out last time

what part of broward are you located???

I dont think its going to play any favor in hitting florida - they say most models predict it going northward in the Atlantic.... the waters are still too cool and the windshifts will push it northward and out of sight. - most likely, not going to hit here.

I wouldnt be too concern unless it got closer or they change their model predictions in the coming days..but for now, I would save the cash that you may need for your car to run errands/work - gas isnt cheap and the price for regular unleaded is 4.09 - 4.11 p/gal...

anyways, I feel this one isnt going to do anything but spin its way up into the atlantic graveyard...

I am in Southwest Ranches...............I still like to be prepared. I have too many horses not to be on the ready at all times.

We have been slammed with rain here. I am not complaining though, my pasture looks great! We did have a small tornado touch down yesterday, ripped off someones carport.

We so need the rain.
A few tropical storms dump a few 10 inches for a few weeks may put a dent into it this drought.

Just no hurricanes.

Havent been to Griffs in Davie, but have in Coconut Creek[right off the sawgrass expressway]..its a nice store and everytime I go down the saddle isle, I drool like a dog all over their gleamy saddles with silver plates decorating the whole saddle and nice soft and good smelling leather....makes me go wooooo-wee! lol

too bad no horse yet - once the economy lets up, hopefully with our new presidente, and money/gas becomes less of a big deal , then I will reconsider not owning and owning one...who knows...

anyways, as far as Robbins and TreeTops park, I high recommend going to those 2 parks..I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE both parks. Both have HUGE and SPACIOUS Trail rides and Fields, COWS, HORSES,WILD ANIMALS, and Cabins..I mean everything from A-Z in those parks.... Hopefully one day, there would be a big trail riding event there - I would definantly go there and trail mount for a lot of hours ...You have to go to those parks, I guarentee you , you will love them and come back for more riding..

They have cabins ?? I heard no overnight camping, day trip. I have been to Tree Tops, just driving thru to see the place and the horse area is gorgous.

Haven't been to Robbins. Maybe when it cools down (Oct/Nov) we can all meet there for a trail ride/picnic !!!

I used to live in Hollywood. We kept our horse then, in the SW Ranches off Griffin Rd. Its has been raining in Tampa everyday. Everthing is soggy. Summer in Florida. Hope there are no hurricanes.
