Poor babies! Hey, didn't someone in Ocala say they wanted a pasture mate pony for their Thouroughbred? Maybe one will fit? Wouldn't that be great?!

It was me...I am looking for a pasture mate for a handicapped OTTB that i have living out his days with me.

Anyone know who to contact in relation to these animals? I could probably take a couple. I have a little room for a project.

Maybe contact Marion County Animal Control, or the news channel that reported it.

I will see what I can do....In the meantime, if anyone finds out any info, could they PM me or post here?

the poor things. I actually found an aged mini mare that I can buy for a companion but if I can help out I would rather do that. It would be worth the 5 hour drive to pick up.

Ladies, I found a better site for info. Go to www.myfoxtampabay.com and click on the news link. The story was on the 5pm news on this larger network. It was done so fast that I didn't catch the exact details, but they said the horses were to be fostered, then put up for adoption. I am interested as well. I would absolutely love to have a mini. From the other pictures they had, there looks to be standard size horses, shetlands, and maybe some donkeys as well. If someone has/gets a 501c3 they may be eligible to foster.

Awww poor babies, they look so sweet to. I would be interested in giving a few of them a life long home on green grass! Does anyone have any info on these adorable guys yet? Please PM me if you do!

got the info!!!

Marion County AC rep says:

"People wishing to volunteer to care for any of the horses can call Animal Program Coordinator Christy L. Jergens at 352-671-8707. If that voice mail box is full, people can call the Animal Center main line at 671-8700."
