Century FL Horses neglected

I was just curious if anyone else saw on the news where the Arabian mare and foal were voluntarily surrendered due to neglect in Century, FL (far NW corner of panhandle). I was getting ready for work so all I heard was that they had been working with the owner for several months with no improvement, and that they would be adopted in 30 days. Century is probably less than 1 hour drive from me, so I was just curious
